Lara left the following picture on her Instagram site,
with the caption, “A moment of relaxation ... in silence or almost .... @maisonboire a little dream world , Brian and his team are perfect 🙌🏻♥️thanks”.
In that post she managed to do two things: she alerted her fans that she was still being (almost) silent…And she provided a commercial link to “maison boire”. If one goes to the (Instagram) site indicated, one finds that the restaurant Maison Boire advertises themselves as “Back to the roots. Fine cuisine using local and organic ingredients. Prepared with love over a wood fire; from the garden to your plate.” From the pictures it looks like Lara and Gabriel had a night out for dinner there, and Lara took the time to acknowledge them.
Note that also means that Lara had the confidence to eat in-doors, in a restaurant, not something to be taken for granted in these COVID times. The situation in Quebec is good: only 75 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday, there are 67 people in the hospital, and no deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Quebec is further loosening restrictions on bars, restaurants and events as of Aug. 1; bars and restaurants will be allowed to serve alcohol until 1 a.m.— one hour longer than is currently permitted—and outdoor festivals can now welcome 15,000 spectators. This goes along with their success in vaccinations: 83 per cent of the eligible population in the province (age 12 and up) have received one dose of vaccine, and 60 per cent have received two doses (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/covid-19-quebec-need-to-know-july-26-1.6117191).
The first part of Lara’s caption succinctly summarizes her week – outside of this little tidbit, Lara is still in ‘silent mode’.
Since Rick Allison’s discussion of Nue was so interesting, it is useful to review another one of his discussions on the ‘Lara Fabian Connecting People”’ website, a video that is also available on youtube at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl4noAYOXss
This is a discussion of the making of “Je t’aime”. Here’s what he had to say: The inspiration for this song came, oddly enough, from Lara’s singing of “Je suis malade”. After Lara included it on her Carpe Diem album, and then toured with this song [including the big June festival in Quebec], Serge Lama, its writer and Rick’s friend, invited Lara to join him at the Palais des Congres in Paris. In the evening, he and Serge had dinner together. Serge told him that song was a story about the women he had loved, and when Rick said that for a songwriter (like himself) it was imposing to have that song 'in front of him', Serge suggested that Rick should write a song as important as that one. Rick then went home and wrote about the one who deeply inspired him at the moment, a woman named Marie, who was not there. The chorus with the soldier, the king, the cinema was already there when they started recording the song, and Lara added all the other essential parts.
So…two of Lara’s most famous interpretations are related.
In Star Academie news, registrations for auditions are now open, as indicated in the following article (https://www.lesoleil.com/arts/tele--radio/les-auditions-pour-star-academie-2022-sont-ouvertes-7ea9633a242f20f8f9c710ff12974187):

Registration for the auditions for the next edition of Star Académie is open.
The auditions will first be held in Montreal from September 10 to 12. The production team will then travel to Sherbrooke (September 17th), Gatineau (19th), Quebec (23rd to 25th) and Saguenay (26th and 27th) to meet with the candidates.
Then the auditions will continue in October in Rimouski (the 1 st ) and in New Brunswick (in Moncton on the 3rd and in Bathurst the next day), the producers and broadcasters of the show, TVA, Quebecor Content and Breaking Productions.
It is necessary to register in advance, via the staracademie.ca site, indicating the city where the candidates wish to audition and selecting a time slot. Candidates will only be able to appear before the judges once during the audition process for this “2022 vintage”.
In front of the public?
“The exceptional and inspiring” Lara Fabian has confirmed her return as director of the Academy for a second consecutive year, say the producers.
"With the reduction in health measures, everything suggests that the next season will take place in front of a public and in the presence of international guests", they specify.
The Star Académie team accepts singers "from all musical horizons", aged 16 to 30, in order "to form a new enlightened, moving and diverse cohort, like the youth of today".

And there is some more Star Academie news, this one more off-topic (https://vedettequebec.com/2021/07/19/une-premiere-photo-de-lunou-de-star-academie-dans-la-nouvelle-serie-chaos/); here’s the translation:

A first photo of Lunou from Star Académie in the new series Chaos
The big comeback of Star Académie caused a lot of reaction this year. After a 10-year hiatus, the popular singing show returned to the air to the delight of many fans.
Over the weeks, viewers got to know the academicians and especially to witness their great talent. One of these talented academicians was none other than Lunou Zucchini, the daughter of popular singer Luce Dufault. It goes without saying that Lunou has that in her blood! The latter went very far in the adventure, but unfortunately she lost to William Cloutier.
Despite her defeat, Lunou's career is booming. She announced a few weeks ago to be part of a new television series on TVA this fall, entitled Chaos. Josélito Michaud is behind the concept of the show which tells the story of young adults and their loved ones whose lives will change dramatically following a tragedy that occurred during a concert by their idol, INVO. Many personalities are part of the cast, including Lunou who will appear in the tenth episode. See the first photo of Lunou on the set of Chaos below…

One imagines that if Lara were not so ‘confined’, she might be the spokesperson for the Star Academie developments.
Interesting photo(s) of the week:
An ‘optimistic’ picture from the Lara Fabian America FB site,

There’s a cute video of Lara giving an interview in French in 1988 at a school in Dublin, in preparation for the Eurovision contest of that year. Obviously she could have carried out that interview in English; one gets the impression it was set up for her to do in French so that the students could practice their French language skills. It can be found at:

(thanks to the Lara Fabian Multimedia site).
And in a section often overlooked by this page, the ‘mentions’ section of Lara’s FB page, one of many pictures by Angelica Biélorussie,

Here in the depth of summer, one still plagued by COVID-related restrictions, and Lara’s own health restrictions, activity for Lara publicly has crawled to a halt. Perhaps she is working on a new album, from a writing perspective; perhaps she’s just taking it easy. Either way, hopefully she and all you are keeping safe.
