Lara has continued to reschedule the concerts that had to be postponed this month from her 50 World Tour. The concert scheduled for Odessa, Ukraine on June 15 has been moved to October 20, 2022, as indicated at (https://concert.ua/ru/event/lara-fabian-odessa?__cf_chl_jschl_tk):
-------------------------------------------------------
Attention! The concert has been postponed from 03/13/2020, 09/27/2020, 06/15/2021 to 10/20/2022. All tickets remain valid for the new date!
-------------------------------------------------------
As you can see, they noted all the different dates that optimism had led to; hopefully this last one will actually take place. Similarly, the concert in Odessa on June 16 has been moved to October 21, 2022. [“Attention! The concert has been postponed from 03/14/2020, 09/28/2020, 06/16/2021 to 10/21/2022. All tickets remain valid for the new date!”].
You can access tickets for these concerts following the link from Lara’s URL, larafabian.com. [BTW, that site is slowly being used a bit more; there’s now a ‘news’ section, which has an occasional announcement].
For the other eastern European concerts, e.g. Budapest, there is this statement (or the equivalent): “Lara Fabian's European tour planned for summer 2021 will unfortunately not be able to go ahead, so she has postponed all her concerts until 2022. As soon as we have the new date, we will inform ticket holders immediately, as ticket redemption and ticket sales are currently suspended. Tickets already purchased will automatically be valid for the new date. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Lara had already rescheduled her concerts in Quebec to June, 2022, and it wasn’t clear how she could have all the others, both those in France and eastern Europe, in that same month. It would appear many of the others will now be in the fall of 2022 as well. That will mean that her “50 World Tour” birthday tour will still be going on when she is almost 53 . This is even a longer ‘celebration’ than Igor Krutoi had for his 60th birthday, which occurred in July of 2014, and he was still holding ‘60th birthday’ celebrations through January of 2015 (you may remember Lara attended one of them, at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. that month). That is, if it will still be the 50th birthday tour. If Lara has a new French album out by then, that may be included in the setlist as well. As soon as any of the other postponed concerts has found a new date, we’ll note it.
Following Lara’s announcement last week that she will be back as director of the Star Acadmie next year, there was some additional news associated with recent graduates of the show [hence bordering on “off-topic”]. Zara Sargsyan, Queenie Clément and Lunou Zucchini will appear at the “Mammouth Ball”, an entertainment event for teenagers to be shown on Tele-Quebec next Friday. It’s to encourage and celebrate people who get a high school degree. The ironic part is that Zara herself is leaving high school this year. As noted in an article at (https://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2021/06/10/tele-quebec--trois-academiciennes-au-bal-mammouth), all three of them have been very busy since the show ended:
---------------------------------------------
The female finalist Lunou performed at the Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon, shot a scene from the “Chaos” series (coming to TVA) and will soon begin preparations for her duet tour with William Cloutier.
Zara will be invited to the virtual show of the National Day, in Laval, on June 23, with Annabel Oreste, also from “Star Académie”, and continues to write plays and to feed her social networks with musical performances. Queenie is already working on an album, which she aspires to release before the end of the year, and says she also has some short-term TV plans.
And, like seven other talents from their cohort, Lunou, Zara and Queenie were featured in the music video for the song "Je veux", Zaz's hit reinterpreted by Shayan Heidari on the album "Star Académie 2021". The video will be unveiled shortly.
-------------------------------------------
In other news, Lara will be one of the artists appearing (virtually) on the next Canada Day TV broadcast, to take place on July1. Here’s the article describing it (https://www.ledroitfranco.com/arts/veronic-dicaire-damien-robitaille-et-lara-fabian-a-la-tele-pour-la-fete-du-canada-de946b50e9e8f087e22aff40447dde82?fbclid=IwAR1D_-CLh6ar7zbAs5_9kmi11JqqMfNXjXC25PtEf26M5k1sNsMpNZgVyqU):

Véronic DiCaire, Damien Robitaille and Lara Fabian on TV for Canada Day
While waiting to unveil the entire program of celebrations - virtual, again this year - surrounding Canada Day, Canadian Heritage reported that the singer from Embrun Véronic DiCaire will co-host the program “Lumières sur la fête du Canada”, presented by ICI Radio-Canada Télé and CBC television on the evening of July 1.
For the second year in a row, the national festivities will be highlighted "in a virtual environment" rather than through concerts given in front of a public, Canadian Heritage reported on Friday, June 11. A decision obviously linked to the "government's priority to keep citizens safe", in this period of "uncertainty" linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The show will feature artists from each of the provinces and territories, including Damien Robitaille, Lara Fabian and Les Trois Accords.
Véronic DiCaire will co-host the show with author, singer and actress Jully Black.
For two hours, Lumières sur la fête du Canada will testify to "the excellence of the work of performing artists and artisans from across the country." [...] On July 1 at 8 p.m. (ET), the spotlight will be on those whose job it is to put beauty in our lives and to make our culture shine”, said the federal ministry by way of press communication.
The show will bring together several French-speaking guests. The spotlight will thus be on Damien Robitaille, Lara Fabian and Les Trois Accords, but also on Mélissa Bédard, Les Hay Babies, Shawn Jobin, Albert Dumont and Josée.
"Jann Arden and Naya Ali"
Folk singer Jann Arden and young rapper Naya Ali will be among the English-speaking headliners.
The evening will also be an opportunity to appreciate the talent of JP Saxe, Johnny Orlando, Tyler Shaw, Jessia, Gurdeep Pandher, Terry Uyarak, Paper Lions, Irish Mythen, Inn Echo, Madison Violet, Prado Monroe, Begonia, Sebastian Gaskin, Boogey the Beat, Major Funk, Boréalis Soul, Lawrence Nayally and Séan McCann.
“Lumières sur la fête du Canada” will also be broadcast on the Canadian Heritage YouTube channel, on which Anne-Marie Withenshaw will take advantage of the commercials to show the studio and behind the scenes of the show. A great opportunity for the general public to meet artisans in the industry and see artists “in rehearsal”, promises Canadian Heritage.
Spirit of reconciliation
While the Canadian industry "will vibrate in unison" on stage, Canada Day "encourages us to do this year, more than ever, proof of solidarity, understanding and resilience," suggests Canadian Heritage by way of a press release
The department invites Canadians “to come together from coast to coast to reflect on our history and our culture” and to “maintain a dialogue that is sincere, inclusive and done in a spirit of reconciliation”.
"These celebrations strengthen the bonds that unite us and look forward to the future of our country with optimism while recognizing the past."
The complete program of the celebrations on 1st July will be unveiled in the coming days.

This is a unique opportunity for Lara to be seen by the rest of Canada; despite her fluency in English, and her release of an occasional English album, she rarely appears there. [Her previous manager indicated that promoters were wary about booking her in locations such as Toronto or Vancouver, since in the past, she had done French language concerts there, which were, understandably, poorly attended].
Now switching countries , if you’ve ever wondered about other Belgian female pop singers, a list and brief discussion of them can be found at
m.famousfix.com/list/belgian-female-pop-singers
Of course, Lara is listed at number 1. The site also notes, interestingly enough, that she is #13 of Warner Music France artists, #270 of 20th-century Canadian women singers, and #544 of 21st-century Canadian women singers [not clear which records they include in that listing]. When one checks on iTunes for their biggest selling songs/albums of the week in individual countries (https://kworb.net/itunes/artist/larafabian.html), invariably Lara’s name shows up for the songs “Je t’aime” and “Je suis malade” and for her first English album “Lara Fabian” in all manner of Eastern European/Asian nations (this week it is Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan (!)).
Interesting photo(s) -or videos - of the week: another of Betrand Exertier’s photo of Lara with new glasses at the “Bar a lunettes”, with Marie-Sophie Dion, the owner:

A nice feature of Lara discussing the incentive she had to sing Adagio well, on her first English album, can be found at:

The Lara Fabian America site provided a link to Lara’s singing of the Yentl medley in Paris in 2005, which was just uploaded by the Lara Fabian multimedia channel, at

And we know it was on the ‘Un regard 9’ DVD (as can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_Bqg9pGPek). From our perspective, the absolute best vocal performance was the version from the Molson Centre in 1998, available at

Feel free to disagree!
Since this was the time when Lara would have been giving concerts, it’s become free time for her due to the Covid-inspired cancellations. The most likely news of her in the coming weeks would seem to be associated with the 2022 Star Academie, perhaps concerning additional talent that is being recruited. In addition, there may be the continued rescheduling of those postponed concerts. And look for her to pop up on TV in Quebec at any moment . Meanwhile, stay safe everybody.
