The highlight of the week (among other highlights), and perhaps of the year, was Lara’s release of the video/song “Nos coeurs a la fenetre”. Lara introduced it this (translated) way:
-----------------------
I am so happy to reveal the video of the single "Our hearts at the window" ... this new song is dedicated to our everyday heroes ... The single will be available at 00:00 tonight on all download platforms, and I would be pleased to show you the clip tomorrow at 10am on my YouTube channel ... This clip for which many of you participated by sending me your videos, when each evening you applaud our caregivers, will be and will remain our united gift to the place of those who need it ...
All profits will be donated to 4 foundations in my core countries, The King Baudouin Foundation for Belgium, The Hospitals of France Foundation for France, United Way for Canada and the Italian Civil Protection for Italy.
And then the next day she followed that up with:…
“I am so happy to present the clip of "Our hearts at the window"... because this song and clip are not just a song... they are a thank you from the heart to the caregivers, an ode to the hope shared with all, a way to witness how essential this fight we all fight against the virus is... and how important it is to help, support, and be, despite the distances imposed, as close as possible of those who need it: our everyday heroes and the sick.” Following a list of notables who contributed, she concluded with:
Thanks to you my fans for your mixed videos and emotions...
Together, let's make our hearts beat every day and stretch out our hands to our heroes.
Love,
L.”

OUR HEARTS AT THE WINDOW
Fabian, Hesme, Denebe
I hear singing through the windows
To the damaged world, we offer this gift
If in the streets time stands still
Our entwined voices carry hope higher
Sing over and over
Sing
Sing over and over
Sing
Our hearts burst at our windows
To share this essential need
I hear so loudly our souls reborn
Reconnecting to the beauty of the sky
Tonight I look out the window ...
the world sings like a party...
And this music that passes
mixes the hearts and comforts them
Sing at the top of your voice Sing
Sing at the top of your voice Sing
Tonight I look out the window ...
let us pray together for those who remain
And we notice in pain
When you love, you don't die
Sing at the top of your voice Sing
Sing at the top of your voice Sing
--------------------------------
Lara wrote, “A huge THANK YOU to all those who were kind enough to give up their images free of charge and to all the teams who agreed to work voluntarily to produce this clip and this song: many of you have responded to this call from the heart and from generosity.”
The video montage was put together by Benoit Chaslerie.
Apparently Moh Denebi was at her house when the television showed pictures of Italians singing at their windows. That gave birth to the idea. They wrote the song that evening, with the help of Elodie Hesme via Skype. The words were put to the melody of the Hungarian Dance No. 5 of Brahms, and Lara’s daughter Lou and husband Gabriel joined in the singing. The choirs were them, Lara and Moh. “Thank you all for participating in this solidarity pool... for those who risk their lives to save and protect ours...
There are no small donations... just small gestures that all assembled make the greatest acts of love....
Thank you so much for mobilizing as you do... don't hesitate to share around you... because it is together, united, that we can hope to make a difference....

From Montreal, Lara Fabian offers a song and a clip for the benefit of caregivers
The singer and coach of "The Voice" will unveil a new song this Thursday, midnight, "Our hearts at the window", then a clip for the benefit of caregivers in France, Belgium, Italy and Canada.
After Calogero, the Lavoine-Obispo-Pagny trio and the collective "Et demain", it is the singer and new coach of "The Voice" Lara Fabian to sing for the benefit of the nursing staff. But to an international artist - Belgian by birth, Italian by her mother, naturalized Canadian and French at heart -, international focus. All the benefits of the song “Nos coeurs a la fenetre” (Our hearts at the window), unveiled this Thursday at midnight, then of the clip put online Friday at 10 am on YouTube, will be donated equally to caregivers in the four countries via the Paris Hospital Foundation- Hospitals of France, the Protezione Civile, Centraide and the King Baudouin Foundation.
From Montreal, where she has lived since she coached in "La Voix", the Quebec "The Voice", three years ago, she tells us with emotion how her charity ballad and her collective clip were born, how she lives its confinement and plans the end of the season of "The Voice" on TF1 and her tour.
"A badly wrapped gift"
Lara Fabian entered with her husband and daughter in her fourth week of confinement in Montreal. "As for half of humanity, it is hard because we are far from the family in Italy, from my father in Belgium," she admits on the phone. "In France, a 102 year old grandpa with whom we were close did not take the shock, it is hard not to have said goodbye to him. But for me who is always on tour and in the studio, this confinement is also a break, which allows me to spend time, to reflect and to discuss a lot with my daughter (Editor's note: Lou, 12 years old) and my husband. In the morning, Lou follows her lessons and I mine with my French singing teacher by Skype. Beyond compassion for those who suffer, the three of us try to experience this confinement as a badly wrapped gift."
On March 9, the Italians sing at their window. Lara Fabian and the Swedish composer Moh Denebi are in front of the television. "Chance wants Moh to be at my home, because we are working on the album of one of the artists of "La Voix", Felix Lemelin. And we are overwhelmed by these Italians who sing. I said to him: "Look at all these choirs at the window". And with the same impetus we rush into my studio at home. We wrote the song in the evening, with the author Elodie Hesme by Skype. We use the melody of Brahms' "5th Hungarian dance", my husband and my daughter join us and start to sing it. The choirs are them, Moh and me. The text was written in four languages, French, Italian, Spanish and English. "
Eva Longoria and dozens of fans on the clip
"The nursing staff is the coral barrier of our humanity, I told myself that this song had to be for them," continues Lara Fabian. "So that the song had more impact, we decided to make a music video. I called friends, acquaintances, I asked my fans, asking them to film themselves applauding at the windows. We received almost 1000 videos in 48 hours! A friend mounted them with images of empty cities. "The video brings together thirty personalities from both sides of the Atlantic, Eva Longoria, Michel Drucker, Gary Dourdan (Editor's note" Experts "actor), Véronic Dicaire, Patrick Sébastien ...
"Nothing is decided for the end of "The Voice"
She is looking forward to joining the "The Voice" team. “It is a joy to participate. With Amel, Marc and Pascal - how beautiful is their song for caregivers! - there is no posture, no barrier, just kindness and respect. When something is true, honest, it shows on the screen.”
Confinement requires, the selections already recorded have been extended and the direct - the semi-final and the final - postponed for the moment to May 2 and 9 at the Palais des Sports in Paris. “But everything is suspended and nothing is decided”, admits the coach. “We are trying to find solutions until September, we talk every week, I am in contact with a lot of candidates, even those who have left. Nothing is left out. In one country, the final took place on a reduced formula without an audience…”
As for the French dates for her “50 World Tour ”- she has just turned 50 - they were postponed to September. “I hope it will get better and that we will all be protected. For that as for everything, I keep hope."
---------------------------------------
Though Lara said the text was written in four languages, she has only produced the versions in French and Italian, as in the song. Perhaps there will be another version, in. English and Spanish (though that’s probably doubtful).
I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be one of Lara’s greatest songs. In 4 days it already has about 350,000 views on Youtube (which exceeds the number of her Youtube subscribers), and a karaoke version, a piano version and much discussion of it already can be found on the Internet. It is very worthy of all of those things.
In other news, Lara was supposed to be on the show “Tous en cuisine” (All in the kitchen) live with Cyril Lignac on M6. However, despite the list of recipes, and the announcement of Lara as the invitee – see below – it didn’t happen. Marc Antoine Lebret was the guest instead.
(https://www.telez.fr/actus-tv/tous-en-cuisine-la-liste-de-courses-pour-les-recettes-de-la-semaine/?fbclid=IwAR15SEKGPCz_vau9ZGJCd6sTCGg5xLdiSeccqCDCyp8HL0WReVWL6kxXGAo)
Now it’s on to The Voice. We surmised that this week’s team would be for one of the female coaches, and it was – Amel. The promo for next week says it will be Lara’s team.
In order to extend the time, “the host proposed to extend the evening by showing behind the scenes of the show through new images and interviews. The four coaches - Lara Fabian, Marc Lavoine, Amel Bent and Pascal Obispo - comment on the performances of the selected talents. On the program: debriefs • Talent focus • You prefer. Each member of the jury must choose between two proposals, thus revealing a little more their personality traits • You laugh, you lose: the candidates who clashed during the battles compete this time by telling jokes. The goal is to last as long as possible without laughing.” The show ended up being listed for 80 minutes. In this summary, we’ll stick to commenting on the talents themselves:
1)Toni sang "Juice" from Lizzo.
The perfect example of a performer, with this R&B number; singing was pretty much secondary. Amel, Pascal and Lara seemed to really enjoy the energy and rhythm of the number. However, Amel did not hit the red button for her. And afterwards, when she made it clear she did want Toni to advance, Pascal had to come over and instruct her about that – hitting it for her, much to Toni’s relief.

2)Rita s “Mon amie la rose” of Francoise Hardy
Rhythmic, Arabic number, well performed. Not chosen.

3)Terence sang “Blower’s daughter” of Damian Rice
A nice presentation of a song which at times gave him a chance to show off a nice tenor’s voice. Lara was the most enthusiastic (he was more of a “Lara-type” singer, and she strongly regretted not choosing him). Amel again did not hit the red button during his presentation, but did so afterwards in the discussion. (One wonders whether she again forgot).
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-terence-chante-blowers-daughter-de-damian-rice-ko-00365391.html.
4) Ryadh sang "La Bohème" of Charles Aznavour
A presentation which once again was more talking than singing; authoritatively done but not chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-ryadh-chante-la-boheme-de-charles-aznavour-ko-43365899.html
5) Fayz sang "L’Aziza" de Daniel Balavoine
An ok presentation of what’s really a great song. Not chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-fayz-chante-laziza-de-daniel-balavoine-ko-39570312.html
6) Tom Rochet sang “Je t’aimais, je t’aime et je t’aimerai” of Francis Cabrel.
A quiet, confident, polished rendition, not much range to the singing was demanded. Amel chose him by hitting the red button.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-tom-rochet-chante-je-taimais-je-taime-et-je-taimerai-de-francis-cabrel-ko-04455758.html
7) Ana sang "Bad Guy" de Billie Eilish
Perhaps the most creative and enjoyable presentation of the evening, Ana can’t sing but she has plenty of attitude, and a great deal of appeal. She did not get chosen, however, and was heartbroken over it, with Amel and Lara going up to her to console her. Here’s what Lara said to her (and remember, Ana is just 16 years old): “I can tell you just one thing. I have never, never won a contest in my life and I have never been taken in any casting, I missed everything every time. And I thought I had missed and in fact I was building who I am, keep doing it because you are magic." Lara’s words got a very strong “thumbs up” from the internet audience, who appreciated her empathy and sensitivity to this young girl, and Ana definitely seemed consoled by them.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-ana-chante-bad-guy-de-billie-eilish-ko-68699457.html
So Amel’s team is set. Last week, in an interview with Tele-Loisirs, Louise Combier said what is undoubtedly the truth about the selections. Talking about her coach Marc, she said, “For me, during rehearsals for knockouts, I had a feeling, an intuition. I already thought he was going to take Anthony Trice, Antoine Délie and Ifé to the lives.” It seems that is generally the case, the coaches’ have an idea who they want to have move on, and to at least some extent the actual performance is more for the fans than for them. After all, they get to see the talent for a whole week or more, and base their assessment on more than just one performance. That doesn’t mean the candidates are always aware of what the choices will be, however, as Ana’s response indicates.
An article about the future of The Voice appeared in (https://www.stars-actu.fr/2020/04/the-voice-diffusion-suspendue-et-lives-reportes-a-lautomne/) on Monday. Here’s the translation:
-------------------------------------
The Voice: broadcast suspended and lives moves to the autumn?
Bad news for the fans of the broadcast of TF1 “The Voice, la plus belle voix” whose season is currently broadcast each Saturday evening on TF1. In effect, the broadcast has a very strong chance of being suspended next because of the corona virus epidemic and the prolongation of confinement which will be announced this evening by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
Indeed, the ordeal of the KO already began two weeks ago and is the last stage before the lives.
Except that with a prolongation of confinement certainly until mid-May, one could see even until the end of May, it’s impossible for TF1 and the production of The Voice to organize the lives.
Two evenings of lives are expected for the talents who qualify at the end of the KOs: the semi-final and the final respectively, the 2nd and the 9th of May. And according to Le Journal de Dimanche, the two evenings thus have to be postponed to next autumn! When they will organize them serenely, in good conditions.
---------------------------------
Interesting photo(s) of the week: from Lara Fabian, Bien Plus Qu’une Passion. “Corse-Reunion” website, a truly beautiful picture…
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/photos/a.501228263404688/1398846656976173/?type=3&theater
One doesn’t know how seriously to take the article that implies The Voice will be suspended immediately; on their website, they have a video promo for next week’s KOs, which does feature Lara’s team:
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-les-premieres-images-des-ko-de-lara-fabian-52622301.html
There doesn’t seem to be any reason not to show it, so it’s reasonable to assume it will be broadcast. And hopefully there will be more donations and earnings resulting from Lara’s new video to distribute to hospitals in the four countries. Other than that, the self-isolation continues; once again, be safe everybody.

As for the song, it utilized music from Brahms (see below), and Lara’s usual wonderful complexity of concepts, sung in both French and Italian. Here are the (translated) lyrics:

From Montreal, Lara Fabian offers a song and a clip for the benefit of caregivers
The singer and coach of "The Voice" will unveil a new song this Thursday, midnight, "Our hearts at the window", then a clip for the benefit of caregivers in France, Belgium, Italy and Canada.
After Calogero, the Lavoine-Obispo-Pagny trio and the collective "Et demain", it is the singer and new coach of "The Voice" Lara Fabian to sing for the benefit of the nursing staff.

Interesting photo(s) of the week: from Lara Fabian, Bien Plus Qu’une Passion. “Corse-Reunion” website, a truly beautiful picture…

One doesn’t know how seriously to take the article that implies The Voice will be suspended immediately; on their website, they have a video promo for next week’s KOs, which does feature Lara’s team:

There doesn’t seem to be any reason not to show it, so it’s reasonable to assume it will be broadcast. And hopefully there will be more donations and earnings resulting from Lara’s new video to distribute to hospitals in the four countries. Other than that, the self-isolation continues; once again, be safe everybody.
