Lara’s new song “C’est la heure” was released last Friday. It is not available for streaming, or for purchase, in the U.S. or many other countries. Lara provided some links for it
larafabian.lnk.to/Cestlheure?fbclid=IwAR0fDlruJqGaz_gKTNXTdpTBxf7SY_C19KD7WFsx5m_VJDrhscfQQSE6bq4
but as you might already know, most of them do not work outside of select countries. This is not a great surprise, though for a while Lara seemed to be interested in making her music available in all markets. Nor is the release noted on her FB page – if the purpose is to entice an audience to buy Papillon (s), you would think they would at least advertise the song. But then again, Papillon (s) is not available on amazon.com or itunes in the States, at least not yet – the album is not scheduled for release until March 20th.
Fortunately, as usual, Russian sites have the song; for example, query the site voydoda.com/ and you should be able to come upon it.
As for the song itself, it’s tuneful enough, catchy and well sung, ending somewhat abruptly as many of her recent songs do. According to the different ‘lyrics’ sites, the official lyrics for the song have not yet been released – presumably that will come with the album itself.
During her 'down time' in Quebec, Lara was on the show Salut Bonjour, talking about her tour and its coming to Quebec, spiced by a discussion of her history in Quebec with old photos. Lara’s past experiences with the great names of French popular music never fail to fascinate her Quebec hosts and presumably their audience. And of course her marriage and family – including Kayla - came in for some nice remarks. It can be seen at:

[Don’t miss the three separate videos on that site. In all of them, she talks with a Quebec vernacular! ].
Lara did advertise the new song on QUB radio in a ‘deep’ interview that included Lara’s feelings about spirituality; it can actually be seen at:
www.facebook.com/qubradio/videos/vb.2215333488686146/180892000002076/?type=2&theater
This is precisely the type of show that she should be on in France, although I doubt they would accept her doing it.
And Lara finished up her three appearances on “Deux filles le matin”, with a show on beauty tips. On another one of the shows, whose video segment can be seen at
www.facebook.com/2filleslematin/videos/489643511728552/
there was the following promotion: “Lara Fabian tells us about the strong bond between her husband and daughter. "I'll never be your daughter's father - because she has one - but I could be her second mom when you're not here.”
A picture of Lara with others discussing “in-laws” can be seen at

The ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre” FB site noted that Lara supports "Mimi for life", an association that fights against pediatric cancer and invests in the well-being of seriously ill children. A video of Lara promoting this charity can be seen at:

Back in France, the last (pre-recorded) ‘blind audition’ for “The Voice – la plus belle voix” was broadcast on Saturday. There was also a preview of the first of the “battles” – but we will postpone discussion of that ‘til next week.
Here were the contestants, and corresponding videos:
1) Manne (22) sang "One Kiss" by Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris
It was noted that the “young Orléanaise works in a chocolate factory. Despite her passion for chocolate, this work is quite repetitive and Manne begins to sing to pass the time. Music represents an element of madness which allows her to get out of her daily life and especially to share emotions. Today, Manne wants to make music. For her, The Voice is a real boost that she intends to seize.”
She performed an R&B song, well-done, and Amel was the only one who turned.

2) Yasmine sang "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
With guitar playing in background, it was a wonderful song and she was a wonderful singer – nobody turned, even though the audience stood and cheered her.

3) Ninon sang "Les petites papiers" by Régine
Another wonderful, musical presentation, here from a voice with character, that nobody turned for.

4) Soraya Chbar sang "Je suis malade" by Serge Lama
Again, another beautiful presentation, no one turned, even though Lara clapped. What was she waiting for?

5) Rania Kameche sings " Chanson en langue inconnue" by Paul Misraki.
The judges didn’t understand what language it was. No on turned – another good (and unique) voice.

6) Maestrina sang "Natural" by Imagine Dragons
[This sounds like a broken record but…] Another wonderful presentation, part rap – nobody turned.

7) Kaël sang "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions
Kael is originally from Ardèche, and has been singing for 10 years. Six years ago, he “decided to leave everything to live from his passion and moved to Paris”, where he made music by performing in private parties, weddings and musicals. In coming to live in Paris, Kaël left his daughter Lola, 10, in the south with her mother. What he didn’t know is that his daughter (with her mother) came as a surprise guest to cheer him on. He has a good voice, though the song wandered all over the place; Marc was the only one who turned.

8) Latchmy sang "Magnolias Forever" by Claude François
Typical French voice, did a good job, no one turned.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-latchmy-chante-magnolias-forever-de-claude-francois-47751206.html
9) Don Pierre sings "Du bout des lips" by Barbara
After graduation, he left his native Corsica to join a music school in Nancy.
Playing guitar, he was o.k. Lara, Pascal and Marc turned, and he chose Marc.

10) Ludysoa & Nathan sing "Ravoravo", a Malagasy song
The brother and sister are from Madagascar. Since they were little, they did everything together. They start by posting videos of themselves singing on social media and were invited to local shows. They then know a little popularity on their native island. Today they live in France and appear on the stage of The Voice to represent their island. The duet featured her on guitar. Amel and Pascal turned, and Pascal was chosen.

11) Owlite sang "Where is my mind" by the Pixies
Antoine, a young business school student, presented himself under his stage name: Owlite (mixture between a precious stone and an owl). Owlite has been writing and composing for a long time but thought he had an ordinary voice. “It is by singing in front of friends that he discovers a particular voice, raising questions: girl's voice or boy's voice? He then becomes aware of this asset and begins to sing. For himself. The Voice is a crazy experience. He’s never been on such a big stage, before such a big audience. He hopes to surprise the coaches with this particular voice."
Though he was not great, Pascal and Marc turned, and Pascal was chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-owlite-chante-where-is-my-mind-des-pixies-58748759.html
12) Matteo (24) sang "La Wally" by Alfredo Catalani
"At 17, he sang for his mom's birthday and discovered that he is a countertenor. [From Wikipedia: A countertenor (also contra tenor) is a type of classical male singing voice whose vocal range is equivalent to that of the female contralto or mezzo-soprano voice types, generally extending from around G3 to D5 or E5, although a sopranist (a specific kind of countertenor) may match the soprano's range of around C4 to C6. Countertenors often are baritones or tenors at core, but on rare occasions use this vocal range in performance]. He then decided to make his passion his profession and became a professional opera singer in France and then in Lebanon, his country of origin. Mattéo participated in The Voice above all for his mom who has always supported him, to make her proud. He performs a great classic of the lyric repertoire to introduce the opera to the general public." The judges figured out it was a guy and all four turned. He chose Lara.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-matteo-chante-la-wally-dalfredo-catalani-12468276.html
13) Ana sings "Ta reine" by Angele
Ana was born in Portugal. Six years ago she left her native country to come and live in France. “Not speaking the language very well, the girl had great difficulty integrating and making friends. She then began to sing and discovered that it is much easier for her to express herself and to open herself by singing than by speaking. As she took part in an open scene in a bar, the boss fell under the spell of her voice and decided to register her for The Voice. For Ana, the Voice is 'the biggest thing she has done in her life', it is a dream come true." She was not great, yet Lara and Amel turned around. [It was their last chance to come up with the 14th team member]. She chose Amel.

Another week, another indication that the judges don’t really know how to choose candidates based solely on hearing their voices. Of the first eight candidates, all who sang and performed quite well, only two judges in total turned around (Amel and Marc). Then it suddenly dawned on them that they needed candidates to fill out their teams, and their ‘turning’ picked up, even though the caliber of the candidates did not. There were some exceptions: Mateo, the counter tenor, sang an opera piece – the same sort of piece that has not gotten a bite from the judges previously – and half-way through three judges turned around, including Lara, who threw up her hands as she did so. And he ended up choosing her, though how she is going to use him in any competition is beyond comprehension. With this seemingly random choice by judges of candidates, it turned out all of the judges filled out their teams – except Lara, who is one short. She had plenty of opportunities, in which the other judges seemed to be waiting for her to choose obvious candidates; but she, most of all, seemed unsure of what she was doing, this despite her experience on La Voix.
The audience for this show has been highly critical, for some of the same reasons as the comments above, and they have voted with their feet. The viewers have dropped from an average of around 5 million for the first four shows to an average of around 4.3 million for the last three. That’s 300,000 less than last year for blind auditions shows 7-9, and 1,400,000 less than for the corresponding shows in 2018. TF1 can not be happy, even though they continue to win their time slot.
For the interesting photo(s) of the week, we’ll pick the ones Lara has been leaving.
Lara and Kayla – with the comment, “A Sunday as I like them .... with a hug from my little Kayla ... it's so much love ... Good Sunday everyone ... take the opportunity to rest and take a little of time with those you love ... Love

A beautiful picture…with the comment, “I wish you a good Weekend ... I kiss you in the Montreal sun ... without forgetting that we meet tonight in @ thevoice_tf1 at 9:05 pm”
And,
with the comment, “In the company of my Canadian team ... the wonderful Jonathan, Richard and my dear @juniorbombardier ✌️
find me on March 6 in the show "Ca finit bien le semaine" @cfblstva ❤
As Lara indicated, she will be on that show this coming Friday. Other than that, the ‘battles’ will begin in earnest on The Voice this coming Saturday. Her concerts don’t resume ‘til the following week, at which point we’ll find out whether the ones in in Ukraine and Moldavia will actually take place (after the cancellations in Greece and Romania); there’s been no word to the contrary (as of yet).
