As announced last week, Lara’s latest edition of Papillon, with three new songs, will be released on March 20th. However, Lara further stated on her FB site, that one of the new songs, “C’est la heure” will be made available this coming Friday. She included a nice photo of herself with that announcement, at

Also last week it was noted that Lara’s shop (https://www.larafabian.shop/)
has now opened, with some items from the tour. Lara commented on that this week:

“www.larafabian.shop is the only official online store.
Find the limited editions of the #50 WorldTour, and web exclusive.
Be careful of the many fraudulent merchant sites that use my image without permission as well as fake accounts in my name that bloom all over the networks.
All of my accounts (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) are certified by the blue tablet.
And the only official merchant site is this one...
I wish you a very happy weekend 💋💕💋💕

Otherwise, Lara appeared on The Voice this week, though it was still the prerecorded ‘Blind Auditions’. After a ‘honeymoon’ with the audience, she has now started getting negative reviews on social media. They complain that she is “too much” – too effusive in her praise of candidates she wants on her team, too sensitive in that she cries over too many things. In response, Lara said, on ‘Sud Radio’, “I've been hearing everyone's opinions for thirty years, beautiful, less beautiful, horrible, wicked, relentless, benevolent. When you enter the train of this métier, you travel with this dimension present to your spirit, or you do not return!"
One thing that particularly annoys the other judges is when Lara wants a ‘talent’ on her team, and the talent comes from Quebec, Lara speaks Quebecoise French; when the candidate comes from Belgium, or Italy, Lara tries to draw on those places as her ‘home’. Amel Bent, on the latest show, scolded Lara by saying that when a candidate comes from Morocco, she doesn’t speak to them in Arabic! And you may remember that last week, both Pascal and Marc jokingly suggested that if candidates were from Japan, Lara would probably talk to them in Japanese. Lara responded by saying that she doesn’t do it purposely, it just ‘slips out’. Actually, we’ve heard that from her before – that she is a natural mimic, and when in the presence of a language or accent she knows, she automatically slips into that mode. Not sure the other judges believe that, because it looks like it has an objective, securing the ‘talent’ for her team. And sometimes it works!
Saturday was episode 6 of The Voice, the next to last of the blind auditions. We know by now the standard scenario – it is the voices with ‘personality’ that get chosen, regardless of the actual vocal quality. And this is true for Lara’s choices, as much as for the other judges. So here are some of the highlights:
**Lara said she wanted to fill out the last remaining three spots on her team with voices of different types. One would say looking at her team, she’s already done that. Nevertheless, perhaps that influenced her on this program, as she only turned around three times.
**The one candidate who chose to be on Lara’s team was Maxyme, age 17 – who is from Quebec, and Lara drew her in by speaking to her in a Quebec accent, and telling her, “You were born with that star spark that few people have.” Maxyme put on a good performance but she is not a very good singer.
**The star of the night – for reasons other than vocal quality – was Nassa, who is a gypsy. She noted that in her community it is not acceptable for women to sing in public, or in fact appear “in front of the lights”. She went on The Voice to try to show those women that “nothing is impossible”. Her parents actually came with her to support her – which was a great surprise to her. She chose Pascal.
**To me, the real entertainment star was Mareva, age 18, who mixed opera with R&B and even jazz. Very, very creative. She joined Amel’s team.
**Tirso left an impoverished background in Cuba to come to France to study music. He sang with a good tenor’s voice. He chose Pascal even though Lara is one of his favorite singers. Even after the event he wasn’t sure why he didn’t choose her.
**Isilde, a very pretty girl of 16, started out on the piano before getting up and picking up the pace. Her story is that when she was very young, she was found to have a neurological disease: dyspraxia, which induces organizational and coordination disorders. Despite this, she worked hard and learned the piano and then the guitar, while accompanying herself on the vocals. The Voice is the culmination of hours of work and the “reward for never giving up.” Lara and Amel turned around for her, even though her voice was not the best; she chose Amel.
**Sarah, age 19 had been on the first season of The Voice Kids when she was 13. She sang well, and with emotion, and ended up choosing Amel who was the only one who turned around for her.
**Pierre, age 30, another candidate who was chosen despite lacking a great voice, has only been singing for 4 years. He moved into the music business as a musician (he played the piano on the show) and stage manager despite opposition from his parents. He joined Marc’s team, very appropriate for his vocal style.
**Samson, age 21, left his native country the Ivory Coast for Morocco to live his passion and make a living in music. Leaving his family was very morally complicated for him and he said that he wanted to make them proud. He has a good voice, and he ended up choosing Pascal.
On this night, Pascal and Amel added three new team members, Lara and Marc each picked up one. That gives all of them 12, each needing two more to fill out their team. Assuming there are 13 candidates for the last show, a guess is that they will not be that selective; in comparison, on this show, no candidate drew out all four judges.
Here is a list of the singers, their songs, and the video location:

If you do watch all these videos, or if you’ve seen the program already, I think you’ll find it hard to conclude that the candidates who were chosen were any better than the ones who weren’t. This point of view from viewers is rampant on all the Voice sites, even being stated in conjunction with the videos.
Meanwhile Lara is back in Montreal, and has been/will be spending three mornings on the show “Deux filles le matin”. The subjects under discussion will be:
Monday: The couple in all its forms
Tuesday: Being a ‘parent’-in-law
Wednesday: Beauty favorites
A picture of Lara with the host Marie-Claude Barrette can be found at:

Segments from the show are available on-line for those within the country.
There was a nice program on Lara called, “L’aura de Lara” on TéléMatin on France2. It was the ‘chronicle of Frédéric Zeitoun’, and they talked with Lara about her career. Lara said it was her determination, her passion for this career that has kept her going. The video can be found at:

Lara provided a testimonial for a new book by Isabelle Padovani, "AU COEUR DU VIVANT" that will be out by the time you read this. Prior to Lara’s words, Isabelle wrote an introduction that reads (in translation):
”It will be 8 years in March 2020 that our paths of life crossed and that we started to walk together, on the paths of sound (with Onsei-Do) and of Consciousness: from there was born a deep friendship , with the evidence of meeting up as if we had known each other forever.
Before being her friend, I admired her as a singer: since we have been traveling together, I discovered the depth of her consciousness, I admire her unwavering desire to incarnate ever more the values of her heart and her soul and to distribute them generously to the greatest number.
I am very grateful for the gift of the testimony she wrote at the beginning of my book and it is with joy that I share it with you today.”
And then here's Lara’s (translated) testimonial:
----------------------------------
"I have been walking for almost eight years with Isabelle.
Before that, she had already won me over with her first book, The Way of the Angels. Indeed, a painful morning, caught in the middle of the wave, I was looking for an answer, without having had the courage to ask the right question ...
Around her book, Isabelle appeared in my life as a gift and, since then, I have never stopped being amazed and nourished by her teachings, by her inclusive vision of the Whole.
When I discovered this new book, I was challenged, touched and admiring: I see it as a magnificent table set, full of wonderful food on an evening of celebration, a buffet that is served to us and where, all together, united and posed , we can eat to satiety and find the taste of wholeness by savoring delicious dishes
which Isabelle offers with tenderness and generosity.
Whatever your state of mind at the time when you are browsing this collection, whether you have already tenderly embraced each part of your being or not, I bet that you will feel joined in the most intimate part of yourself and that smile which will be born on your lips will be communicated to those and those you come across.
This book proposes a Way of reunion with yourself that you can borrow whenever you seek a landmark to do it…
Personally, when my joy becomes “fragile” (one of my favorite texts in this book), I know that I can put myself down there, to welcome in me this child of light, the one or the one we all carry at the bottom of us and of which Isabelle is the mirror, in the heart of the living.
I received this book as a gift and I will be happy to share it as such: I hope it will be passed on so that its precious teaching can be disseminated to as many people as possible.
Thank you Isabelle, my friend, for giving me this precious infinity ...
Lara Fabian."

Interesting photo(s) of the week: from Lara’s Instagram site,
which says “I found love in Pigalle”. A description of Pigalle on-line reads:
“Founded in 2008 by Stephane Ashpool, Pigalle carries a curated selection of sneakers, streetwear, and hard-to-find Japanese brands. Pigalle as a brand portrays a Parisian cool ethos and was named after a former red-light district in Paris. They have expanded their line by collaborating with Nike for a basketball-inspired sportswear range, whilst releasing dual-branded Air Force 1 and Air Raid Silhouettes.”
Lara is still off from her tour and would seem to have more time still to come with her family in Quebec, though that may depend on what responsibilities she has to The Voice. The last of the blind auditions will take place this coming Saturday – one day after we get to hear the new song “C’est la heure”. We’ll see how good it is, and how Lara fills the last two slots for her team.
