A week with TV shows of all sorts dominating the news for Lara. By far, the biggest event concerns a message Lara left on her FB site. It reads:
“It is with pride and happiness that I announce not to leave my red chair... I loved to share for two seasons all these emotions with my friends Quebec... and I am happy today to be able to share them also with my audience French by joining The Voice : la plus belle voix... but of course, I don't leave my beautiful Quebec, my land of heart, singing and luck... I love you....”
She will be joining the other new coaches, Amel Bent, Pascal Obisco and Marc Lavoine, with a picture of the four of them appearing at:

Here’s a (translated) article about this turn of events (https://www.evous.fr/The-Voice-TF1-battles-direct-resume,1175170.html):

The Voice 9 - 2020 Season: Jury, dates, info
The ninth season of The Voice will begin in 2020 on TF1. Viewers will discover a brand new jury composed of Lara Fabian, Marc Lavoine, Amel Bent and Pascal Obispo!
THE VOICE 2020
The musical show The Voice will be back on air at the beginning of the year 2020. The recordings of the blind auditions of this Voice 9 are scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2019 (the battles will then take place in December, then the ultimate test in January). The final will take place in the spring of 2020.
Who will be the coaches of the 9th season of The Voice? Exit Mika, Jenifer, Soprano and Julien Clerc! Place this year Marc Lavoine , Amel Bent , Pascal Obispo and Lara Fabian! "I loved to share all these emotions with my Quebecois friends for two seasons ... and I'm happy today to be able to share them with my French audience as well by joining The Voice: la plus belle voix," she said, singer of Je t'aime, who goes from the Quebec edition ( La Voix ) to the French version.
Amel Bent switches from her show "kids" onto the adult show, while Pascal Obispo returns to the TV-hook after having made his first steps in 2018.
But it is the arrival of Marc Lavoine which is the great novelty of this vintage 2020. There is a few weeks, it was rumored here and there that the production wanted to see him replace a Julien Clerc deemed unenthusiastic. "He lacked fun and lightness, and behind the scenes the atmosphere was sometimes tense with him , then wrote our colleagues here. Marc Lavoine pleases the housewife enormously. He is sexy, polite, friendly ...
Shortly after the announcement of the composition of the jury, the comments are already piling up in the hundreds on social networks. A notice seems to be widely shared: Mika will be missed by many …

In other news, in what had seemed was going to be the lead story, Lara performed her private concert for RHYTHME 105.7 FM this past week. It started with an interview at the station, responding to the question of the “50 choices of Lara Fabian”, based on her “50 World Tour”. It can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJjKVcV35cs
The questions and answers were:
50 days of vacation or 50 days of tour: Lara answered ‘both’. That was unacceptable. So Lara chose the ‘tour’.
50 gluten-free pizzas or 50 glasses of wine. Lara chose red wine.
50 hot nights in Quebec or in Sicily. Lara chose Sicily.
50 Slippers or 50 shoes with High Heels. Lara chose boots instead.
50 minutes of jogging or 50 minutes of yoga. Lara chose yoga, for relaxation and balance.
Lara then sang ‘happy birthday’ to one of the hosts, who then said her family would remember/love that. They then noted that Lara was going to do the private concert in ‘piano-voice’ with Marc Tessier, which Lara said people often requested. Also discussed was that Lara was no longer going to be on La Voix, but that she had ‘gone out on top’ with Genevieve’s win; Lara said that wasn’t the reason, it was her having to be in Europe for much of the time, but she did acknowledge she emerged a winner herself on Genevieve’s coattails. Somewhat ironic discussion given what transpired subsequently… A picture of Lara with the hosts can be found at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/photos/a.501228263404688/1056041941256648/?type=3&theater
As for the concert itself, there are a few extracts from Par amour; J’y crois encore, and La Difference, at
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/videos/440176979956429/
so nothing out of the ordinary in that setlist that we know of. [It turns out, the first few songs were available live on their FB page…].
However, speaking of setlists, Lara left several messages on her FB and Instagram pages concerning the setlist for the new tour: first (https://www.instagram.com/larafabianofficial/):
“Since this tour is our tour... and that it will be very complicated to sing all these songs that have been making our link for almost 30 years now... I would like to finalize the setlist with you..... Do you think about it?
See you on my stories, and it's up to you to give me your preferences... love
And then, “Thanks for all your messages and your numerous votes which have permitted me to finalize the choice of the setlist…It will be a sublime show with some songs that certainly haven’t been sung live in a long time…I rejoice in your choices and I’m happy to offer them to you soon in the 50 World Tour.”
Note, there were some 43,000 views of those Instagram messages…
So far all wonderful choices, and, also, all “Singer of Voice” choices. Looks like Lara will be given a vocal workout…
One aspect of this that is confusing is that she has repeated numerous times, including on the Rhythme FM show, that people in different cities will be given choices, and that there will be different set lists depending on where she is. This is not consistent with ‘one setlist’ being finalized now. Also, Lara’s management has said that she can’t just ‘alter’ setlists from show to show as it’s against union rules – there has to be time for the band to rehearse. Perhaps one way out of this is to have all the possible songs decided ahead of time, rehearse them all prior to any show, and then just pick and choose what is performed where. Maybe then Lara will not have to perform all the most ‘demanding’ songs in each concert.
In other news, Lara appeared on the Quebec show “Viens tu faire un tour”; here’s a description of it:
“The last show of the summer ends with the meeting of Michel Barrette and comedian Denis Bouchard, a little guy from the quartier Chomedey, in Laval! … In the second part of the show, the singer Lara Fabian reveals all her love for the village of St.-Sauveur, in the Laurentians, and for the people who warmly welcomed her, while the Belgian singer laid her bags without a penny in order to start her career in Quebec!” A video promo for it can be found at:

And, Lara will be on another television show, this time on Bulgarian TV with Georgi Toshev, who is a journalist and producer. Here’s the description: “The author and presenter of #foreigners #georgitošev @jorotoshev during a personal meeting with the sweetheart of all over Europe - #larafabian Lara Fabian. The singer with a charming voice speaks frankly in front of the viewers of # BTV-this Saturday, August 31th , starting at 12.30 pm.
There's a nice photo of them at

On the 'Lara Fabian Connecting People' site, it was noted that in conjunction with Igor Krutoy’s 65th birthday, next Saturday there would be a surprise from Canada on a TV show. The betting is that it will be Lara, probably ‘skyping’ in…If so, another indication that their relationship is once again on firm ground for future work together.
And in a TV show further down the road, Lara will be one of the entertainers who will be surrounded by choirs of children on the “"300 Choirs" program on France 3, September 20th (https://www.coulisses-tv.fr/index.php/divertissements/item/12491-les-%E2%80%9C300-ch%C5%93urs%E2%80%9D-chantent-leur-id%C3%B4les%2C-le-20-septembre-sur-france-3?fbclid=IwAR1CFnhq3mRWz6peX58DCfc7dPCfhza9UxE9RyZyShVyWBE9U-Af3Rx0tzw). These shows have always been wonderful for her, with the choir amplifying the beauty of her songs.

Finally, one of the most beautiful pictures of Lara (albeit one we first saw two weeks ago), from her own FB site,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/3057482330959910/?type=3&theater

Given the schedule indicated, Lara will have to squeeze in her TV appearances. According to the most complete concert schedule ([say, Sept – November], Lara has 23 concerts planned. As they are not back-to-back, and considering travel days at the beginning and end, one can estimate that she will be away on tour for half that period of time. With the need to see her family back in Quebec every two weeks [her words], it wouldn’t seem to leave much time for the multiple blind audition programs. And Lara was quick to emphasize that she will not be leaving Quebec, as Lou has now started a new school there. One wonders how much harder being on La Voix back in Quebec would have been than this will be. But one major advantage: nothing could help her French tour and promotion of Papillon more than being on television in France every week; witness the boost it gave that album in Quebec.
In other news, in what had seemed was going to be the lead story, Lara performed her private concert for RHYTHME 105.7 FM this past week. It started with an interview at the station, responding to the question of the “50 choices of Lara Fabian”, based on her “50 World Tour”. It can be seen at:

#50WorldTour”
The way it has worked is that Lara put two songs against each other, asking people to vote for one or the other on her Instagram Stories site. Examples of some of the candidates were:
Si tu m’aimes vs. Tout
Parce que tu pars: vs Immortelle
Deux ils deux ells vs. La difference
Then Lara wrote…”Thanks for all your advice…you see, it isn’t easy to choose ; but thanks to you, the setlist takes shape. Si tu m’aimes vs. Tout
Parce que tu pars: vs Immortelle
Deux ils deux ells vs. La difference
Showing up in the subsequent list being revealed daily [(https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18048832762136163/) and (https://saveig.com/larafabianofficial/?lang=fr)] are:
Perdere l’amore; Alleluia; Si tu m’aimes; Tu t’en vas; La difference
