Two items lead the news from this past week for Lara, one altruistic, and one personal. We’ll start with the altruistic one…
Lara was among the artists appearing at the benefit ‘Le soleil emmène au soleil’ to support Quebecois who suffered from the spring floods in the province. A short video of the event can be seen at
www.facebook.com/theatrelg/videos/324825725094355/
The accompanying (translated) text reads:
--------------------------------
“Beautiful evening yesterday in the company of an impressive skewer of artists. Thanks to: Véronic DiCaire, Lara Fabian, Robert Charlebois, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Paul Piche, 2Frères, Marc Hervieux, Jérôme Charlebois, Mario Tessier, Alain Choquette, Christian Marc Gendron and Manon Séguin.
The sum of $51,000 was raised for the benefit of flood victims. This amount will be fully donated to the Canadian Red Cross.
A huge thank you to the organizers of the evening: Maxime Charbonneau, Chantal Lépine and Evelyne Brouillard.
---------------------------------
I suppose every little bit helps, but one must say that the sum raised is (literally) a drop in the bucket compared to the damage that must have been suffered by the victims. And that’s with 12 different artists participating.
An article about the event, with just a little but more information but with a nice picture of the participants, can be found at (https://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2019/06/27/les-artistes-ont-recolte-50-000-pour-les-victimes-des-inondations?fbclid=IwAR3qkjoL1cN7STSn-92FJxn3OvTnT3EVnEq7tKtnB9IUrrZm1jsDR-AqBus). Here’s the translation:

Unity is strength, and many artists have again proven it with the benefit show “Le soleil emmène au soleil”, organized Thursday to help the victims of recent floods in Quebec.
On the stage of the Théâtre Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse, Véronique DiCaire, Lara Fabian, Robert Charlebois, and Jean-Pierre Ferland - who has agreed to "lend" the title of one of his flagship songs for the needs of the cause -, Paul Piché, 2 Brothers, Marc Hervieux, Mario Tessier, Alain Choquette and Christian Marc Gendron managed to raise $50,000.
The profits generated by the event will be entirely donated to the Canadian Red Cross to support the victims.
All the headliners of "Le soleil emmène au soleil" have volunteered to participate in this one-night rally. Maxime Charbonneau, one of the initiators of the project with the director Evelyne Brouillard ("La Voix"), animated the show.
The musical direction was provided by Mario "Toyo" Chagnon.

On the personal side, Lara and Gabriel celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. Lara marked the occasion on her FB site with a beautiful photo of the two of them, at

and the accompanying text, “6 years.... thank you my love for being you....”
On Instagram, there was posted a variety of pictures of them together, at
Pure People had an article about it with an additional picture (http://www.purepeople.com/article/lara-fabian-tendre-photo-enlacee-avec-gabriel-pour-leurs-6-ans-de-mariage_a341609/1?fbclid=IwAR2x1gK-MqxTjxLBgMhwzY6KxFgYky0eVpP9ytjI5RC30Yp0XcYaqBVr7Yc), translated below:

Lara Fabian: Tender photo, entwined with Gabriel for their 6 years of marriage
On Friday, June 28, 2019, Lara Fabian published a beautiful photo with her husband Gabriel, for their six years of marriage, accompanied by a tender message on her Instagram account. The 49-year-old singer confided how important her man was to her ...
Lara Fabian rarely shares moments of complicity with her husband, Gabriel. The artist, an expatriate in Canada, has just celebrated a moving anniversary: that of her six years of marriage with her companion.
It was on this great occasion that the 49-year-old voice singer unveiled an adorable photo of herself, clasped in her man's arms, on Instagram. " 6 years ... thank you my love for being You, " she writes, stating in one of her hashtags that he is " the only one", her "true love". A cliché acclaimed by more than 14,000 people, which perfectly reflects the great tenderness that animates and binds them.
This handsome 36-year-old Sicilian-born dark-haired man holds a key place in the singer's family life."I never move without him or without Lou [12 years old, born from her past history with director Gérard Pullicino, Editor's note]. I'm lucky enough to have a husband who is extremely present. As she travels a lot, “he has the vital role of watching over my daughter, his position is very important and he gives me incredible support," she told Paris Match in March 2019.
Papillon's interpreter had also engaged on her relationship with a man significantly younger than herself. "In our society, when the woman is the oldest, people ask more questions, that's for sure, but it just depends on how it's lived, I feel very good in my body.” "Age is only a number, I am with a young guy of 36 who is not with a girl of 50 years, but with the woman he loves, " explained the mother. Tender statements.
------------------------------------------------
We wish them many more happy years together.
Lara’s last comments in the article appeared in an interview with ‘Femme Actuelle’ (discussed in a previous News Update), and there are other segments of interest. The video and article for another can be found at: (https://www.femmeactuelle.fr/actu/news-actu/lara-fabian-la-femme-qui-a-change-sa-vie-2080231?fbclid=IwAR1w3E74lHwpvCRQGx-LHg59ol5JxMoUq_8U01dJhO90cb29fhXb1q9RLswv), with the article translated below:

Lara Fabian: This Woman Who Changed Her Life
I understood!
Meeting with Lara Fabian in the show of ‘Femme Actuelle La Cuisine de Faustine’. The opportunity to learn more about the person who has changed the way one sees things and talk to those they love.
Lara Fabian's big smile speaks volumes about the grace period she is going through. It is with pleasure and love of food that the singer confided to Faustine Bollaert around a salade nicoise concocted by Benoit Gauthier, the chef of Gran Pan in Paris. This happiness owes nothing to chance.
The tour she organized to celebrate her 50th birthday, her daughter Lou, whom she is so close to, the “magical love story" that she lives with her beautiful Italian Gabriel Di Giorgio, the critics on their difference of Age: Lara Fabian talks about everything without taboos She does not hide having known gray days and very sad days since the death of her mother, whom she loved so much Yet, today as yesterday, she wants to go forward from what was there before.
This positive attitude, Lara Fabian owes to "an exceptional woman" with whom she "works a lot". "Her name is Isabelle Padovani, and she is a teacher in nonviolent communication," she says, describing how in four stages we can change the way we talk, be heard by someone, and hear each other. It's called the CNV, there's a CNV for kids, and lots of nice little books that allow us to talk to our kids not as subordinates but as beings in the making." A communication technique that Lara Fabian also applies with her companion.
-----------------------------------------------
In response to that, Isabelle Padovani re-posted the video of Lara’s comments on her FB site, and added the following (thanks to the Lara Fabian web FB site for the info):
-------------------------------------------------
When Lara Fabian talks about the CNV...
Surprise of the day: Discover that my friend Lara talks about me and the nonviolent communication on a TV show!
Joy to celebrate 7 years of friendship and journey with Lara and joy to see that thanks to her sharing, the general public can hear about the CNV!

And for one more segment from ‘Femme Actuelle’ (https://www.femmeactuelle.fr/actu/news-actu/lara-fabian-folle-amoureuse-de-gabriel-di-giorgio-elle-se-confie-sur-leur-premiere-nuit-ensemble-2076196):

Guest on the set of ‘Touche pas à mon poste’, on March 14, Lara Fabian returned to her love affair with Gabriel Di Giorgio and confided on their first night together.
Lara Fabian delivers without filter. On Thursday, March 14, the Belgian-Canadian singer was invited on the set of ‘Touche pas à mon poste’ on C8. The pretty blonde was thus confronted with the questions, sometimes embarrassing, of Cyril Hanouna and his band. During the interview "Par amour", she was asked about her intimate life by the animator. "On a thunderbolt, have you ever slept the first night?", Baba launched to her. Ready to play, Lara Fabian responded candidly, with a smile on her face: "With my husband".
A revelation that surprised the troublemaker of C8. "Finally the first night, if we consider that we spent 24 hours talking and we did not sleep, we did not sleep and that finally ...", she explained. "Me, I could not. That disgusts me," Cyril Hanouna joked.
During the show, the singer also had the pleasure of discovering a tender message, recorded by her husband, Gabriel Di Giorgio: "What is it that you are beautiful my love (...) I take this moment to tell you how much I love you." A video that moved the one who succumbed to the charms of the Italian magician in 2012, before saying "yes", only a year later. "He appears in a room and I have butterflies in my stomach, it's been seven years even though I'm married to this man, it's a marvel," she said. Before concluding, not without pride: "I had to do something good at some point in my life to deserve such a being". No doubt about it, Lara Fabian loves him like crazy, like a soldier, like a movie star.
--------------------------------------------
In other news, Lara posted the following picture on her FB site
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/2904298732944938/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “At the end of June 1969, 50 years ago, the Stonewall Riot was the start of the gay rights movement, it represents the beginning of our civil right, and one of the most important movements for humanity, let's always be: one human family .
This drawing has been made by my daughter Lou she is 11 ... Let's raise our kids with love and empathy.”

At the Dawn of Fifties
A few weeks before her new world tour, Lara Fabian begins to feel nervous about going on stage in 50 different cities to celebrate her 50th birthday.
"I start in New York, then Chicago, Los Angeles ... I do not look like anything right now, but I know myself. A few days before, I will begin to feel feverish. You never get used to what it means to be standing on a stage for people. I still have great excitement and fear," she says, on the sidelines of the benefit concert ‘Le soleil emmène au soleil’ on Thursday.
The one that will officially blow 50 candles next January hopes to sing for a long time ... maybe even for another half-century.
"I also want health, being close to my family, being able to continue creating music and having the means to do it," she says.
------------------------------------------------
Ginette Reno and the four judges, in the last show of La Voix Season 6, performed the song ‘Un peu plus haut’, and it has been uploaded to youtube (thanks to the Lara Fabian web site for the link). You can see it at

The (many) interesting photo(s) of the day will also serve to close this Update. In honor of Canada Day (July 1), Lara put a link to the following youtube video of her singing “Oh Canada” in both English and French

with the caption, “To my country of heart, memory, and happy national holiday .... Love"
At this point in time Lara has found the man that she loves, with the daughter that she loves, and is living in the country that she loves. What could be better?
