Some past, present and future events made up the news for this past week, in what appeared to be a generally relaxing one for Lara, as she herself said.
Lara was on the show “Sucre Sale”. Here are some pictures, with the host Patrice Belanger,

The host starts off talking with Lara about her Italian roots, in a neighborhood in Quebec that displays much Italian influence. They then go into the nearby Church (with a pastor having an Italian background) and discuss Lara’s contribution to Genevieve’s winning La Voix, and Lara’s joy in ‘transmitting’ what she has learned, of being useful. The mood turns more serious with a conversation about Lara’s mother’s passing. Lara mentioned that at the very end when “life was letting go”, her mother’s laugh and smile returned; Lara said that at that point, who you really are, comes out. She also noted that her mother passed at just the time Lara’s obligations for La Voix opened up and so she could hop on a plane and go to Belgium. It was noted that the public had sent many notices of condolence to her, and in a way it was her mother who had “kept her down to earth”, and in a sense kept her in touch with her ‘public’, so those well-wishes from people she didn’t know meant even more to her. They concluded with a promo for Lara’s “50 World Tour”, in particular its stops in Montreal and Quebec, where Lara repeated that the fans will help decide what songs she sings there. At the very end Lara even provided a short “Je t’aime”, a capella.
This point about different songs for the Canadian concerts is interesting as Lara’s people have made it known that she cannot just ‘change’ her setlist from place to place (i.e., cannot sing more English songs in English language countries) because there are union rules. Every time a new song is to be added to an on-going concert setlist there have to be so many hours of rehearsals for the band, permissions obtained, etc., so it is not something that can be done quickly. Presumably Lara will have all this factored in, though it also means that the decision of what songs to sing has to be done sufficiently far in advance to allow all that to happen.
Obviously now back from Cannes, during the past week, Lara has been in rehearsals for the Telethon in Montreal, as shown in two pictures, at
www.facebook.com/larafabiantonautre/photos/pcb.2191885910865061/2191885744198411/?type=3&theater
The Telethon takes place on June 2nd, and is in support of ‘Operation Enfant Soleil’, to help sick children (https://www.facebook.com/operationenfantsoleil/).
Also the following week, Lara will be on Ici Radio Canada, the show “Bonsoir Bonsoir” (https://hollywoodpq.com/monia-chokri-et-lara-fabian-a-bonsoir-bonsoir-la-semaine-prochaine/?fbclid=IwAR1TN-2TO6v02O6G9pTKBV1wi94uXR290nBZcQ7Va989pMPpYD8NnB1EXwo). The article indicates it will be broadcast on June 5th.
By that time Lara will be in France. She will be recording the TF1 show “Diversion” with Arthur. Here’s the description:
------------------------------------------------------

An amazing evening where Arthur will also host magicians in magical numbers surrounded by several personalities.

At the end of that week, Lara has another event in France, on June 7th. It’s advertised at (https://www.chantefrance.com/jeu-134?fbclid=IwAR159-ryoFQBpeqtPuHmMzmjLjAABnH--wPI6zrPtjyrUanvhw0TkXDwPZM); here’s the translation:

On the occasion of the release of her new album "PAPILLON", Lara FABIAN will answer the questions of CHANTE FRANCE, the time of a very private interview.
For "Papillon", her 14th album was released on February 8, 2019, Lara FABIAN wanted to combine her romantic DNA and variety with more modern sounds, thanks to a talented duo composed of producer Moh Denebi (Pink, Britney Spears) and singer-songwriter Sharon Vaughn, already in charge of "Camouflage". On this album, Lara Fabian co-wrote and co-composed all the titles.
Meet Lara FABIAN, attend the recording of her interview in public and a live session but also ask her your questions, Friday, June 7 at the end of the day, in a unique place in the heart of Paris.

Note that none of these four announcements were actually included on Lara’s own FB site, which, one has to say, has not been quite as active as it has in the past. They still have not posted in Lara’s Events section most of the concerts already apparently finalized (for tickets are being sold); for an up-to-date list, see, for example (https://www.facebook.com/pg/larafabianweb/events/?ref=page_internal)
But Lara did post an announcement on her FB page for the following event, perhaps because it is especially close to her heart: “Quebec friends.... I'll be waiting for you on June 14th for this event for the benefit of the foundation Leski....”. The accompanying poster is at,
www.facebook.com/Fondation.leski/photos/a.1056383877842624/1297423397072003/?type=3&theater
Remember that this foundation “wants to assist the victims of mental illness by providing them with an animal support on an ad hoc basis” (https://fondationleski.com/?lang=en). As noted in a previous Update, Lara’s own dog is associated with them, and her husband Gabriel has done a lot of work for them.
She may well then stay in Quebec, for June 27th she will be at the benefit for Canadian (Quebec) flood victims.
Concerning her upcoming tour, a promotional article for her appearance in Roubaix (January 8, 2020) can be found at:

Lara Fabian 50 World Tour
After an album in English, Camouflage, accompanied by a world tour, Lara returns to the language of Moliere. It is with happiness that we find her on stage to celebrate her new album ‘Papillon’ and the totality of her career.
With 20 million albums sold, it is one of the great French voices who makes her grand return. Exalted, moving, passionate, the writer and composer of hits like “Immortelle”, “J’y crois encore”, “Tu es mon autre”, and “Adagio”, sings always of love and its variations.
The Belgian singer has mellowed over the years and has brought sweetness to her powerful voice since the vibrant "Je t’ame" that made her famous in France. This fourteenth opus recorded in Montreal and directed by Moh Denebi, marks a turning point for Lara who co-wrote and composed all the titles: she is illustrated in a modern register, mixing electro-pop production and classical orchestration. She starts again in a world tour to celebrate this new album and her 50 years. This beautiful artist is to pose on the stage of the Colisee one evening, the opportunity to share with you her timeless repertoire with tender and sensual notes.

As to past events, in some left-over news from the Global Gift Gala of last week, Lara posted the following comment on her FB site,

She added a nice picture of herself and Eva Longoria, at
In addition, she included this video on her FB site, an ad-hoc version of “Take Me To…”

accompanied by the following text: “Musical memory during # GlobalGiftInitiative in Cannes in the company of the lovely and talented Gary Dourdan and the beautiful musician ... Selene completely improvised moment that I share you ...”

Also continuing from last week, for those who can access “my Canal”, there is a video entitled, “The hidden face of Lara Fabian unveiled by Olivier Cachin”, at
www.mycanal.fr/divertissement/la-face-cachee-de-lara-fabian-devoilee-par-olivier-cachin/h/11772631_50013?fbclid=IwAR16t98j5gFDGX7lmZE2pHJpx-9X42kuJMzgZyq9_vnFBnCUpg9QJvd8fX0
Lara added a few messages about her private life, as she often does. First, on her FB site,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/2811506532224159/
with the caption, “Small, relaxing moment ... I'm watching "Our Planet" on Netflix ... that I recommend ..."

And on her Instagram site, she gave a shout out for her hairdresser, David d’Amours,
with the caption, “for this beautiful color and this moment of relaxation ... always a pleasure to entrust my hair to your expert hands”.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: celebrating Gabriel’s birthday which occurred this past week, at
www.facebook.com/larafabiantonautre/photos/a.646180015435666/2196322980421354/?type=3&theater
And in association with this, Lara left a picture montage of herself and Gabriel together, at
www.facebook.com/larafabiantonautre/photos/a.646180015435666/2196322980421354/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “Heaven, my husband…I love you.”
So as we can see, Lara will still be in Canada for the next week, but the following week she’ll be in France/Europe. And then the week after back in Quebec. Such is her life now, living in Quebec with her most populous market in Europe. Hope she gets frequent flyer miles!
