"Here I Am"
I saw the sun for the first time today
It's been so long I thought you'd gone away
And now I feel as though I've been here before
Once again my friend
I'll see you til the end
Here I am this is me
What you get is what you see
Look around I am free
And there are no fears in me
Here I am
At times the world it seems too scary so
I don't know where I'm heading
And I don't know where I'll go
I know it's not as bad as it seems to me
Once again my friend
I'll see you 'til the end
Here I am this is me
What you get is what you see
Look around I am free
And there are no fears in me
Here I am
Floating by the stars I picture them and us
It's not that hard to see
Our comets are colliding
Imagine you were flying
Imagine that you're here with me
Floating by the stars I picture them and us
It's not that hard to see
Cuz our comets are colliding
Imagine that you're flying
Here with me
I saw the sun for the first time today
It's been so long, I thought you'd gone away
And now I feel as though I've been here before
Once again my friend
I'll see you 'til the end
Here I am this is me
What you get is what you see
Look around I am free
And there are no fears in me.
Here I am this is me
What you get is what you see
Look around I am free
And there are no fears in me.
Here I am this is me
What you get is what you see (this is me)
Look around (oh baby) I am free (oh baby)
And there are no fears in me (and this is me)

I love this song. Though I prefer the piano/cello version, both are really good. I love how simple it is. It kind of makes you see that you don't need a lot of words to tell someone how special they are to you.

Sometimes I think it is the most meaningful when it is expressed in its simplest form, like a child who draws a card out of a crayon and a piece of paper, rather than a store bought card. Songs like this one, or "Last Days" by Cindy Morgan have that "bedside" effect in the midst of adversity when all that ever mattered comes to surface, leaving behind all that never did in the first place.

I absolutely agree. Somehow when everything is simple it becomes much more beautiful than when people complicate things.

Isn't it kind of funny how love is best expressed in the most simple words, and yet when you REALLY want to say how much you love someone, you can't find the words at all...."but the words won't begin to convey, all the love my heart is still learning to say; oh, the words chase the meaning away, yet my love will stay." (Out Of The Grey)

I know what you mean and it's so true.
