I have only been listening to this album for about three days now, but have to share that I really enjoy it! There are three things that stand out for me about it. One, Leona is correct in stating that Natasha is not as good as Lara, but while Lara almost seems to have no limits to what she can do with a song, Natasha has the good sense to know that she does. What I like so much about Natasha is that she stays within those limits that she has. She may not have a powerful voice, but it is beautiful. Second, the music and orchestration on this album is really wonderful. Dare I even suggest that it would be interesting to listen to just the music sometime without any vocals....I'll bet it would be a refreshing experience! And third, it just seems that Natasha has a lot of heart. I do not understand a word she is singing, but can feel it in her voice. I notice that she is not a songwriter ( at least on this album ) and so often that makes a huge difference in the level of passion a singer will put into a song. But Natasha really seems to believe in these songs, and even if she didn't write them, she holds them very true to her heart. I would be interested in someone else's opinion regarding this album, as it always helps me to appreciate it more!

I got this album while I was on holidays, it's a great album. I agree with you about the heart and soul that she puts into her music. I will probably enjoy it more when I know more of what she is singing. I'm currently learning French so I can figure out bits and pieces.

Be sure to get a French/English dictionary. That will help you tremendously with your French.

I just made a copy of this album for a friend at work, and so revisited it after a long absence from it. I stand by the comments I made when I first purchased the album that began this thread. It's a beautiful album.

Personally, in my humble opinion Natasha is the best singer in the world. Her combination of vocal range, melody, beauty, and exciting performance presentation is unmatched. For instance, if anyone can get ahold of her Lucie (acoustic) video, and then also look at her Highway To Hell duet at La Fet De La Musique, you will see the AWESOME range of her performance capabilities. Tu Trouveras at La Fete De La Musique is another example of her performance excellence and her abilty to combine exciting performances with a beautiful voice (no lip syncing needed with this woman). I'm also posting here because the song De L'amour Le Mieux IS MY FAVORITE FRENCH SONG. Is this anyone else's favorite? Regarding Lara, she has just as much vocal power as Natasha, and I love that long note she sings in Tout. Je Suis Malade is another of my favorites. I also love that duet she sang with Laura Pausini outside at night in Italy. I've got a high quality video of that.

I have those videos and you are right that they showcase Natasha's performing abilities. I prefer Lara (and I do think Lara is the better singer, but everyone has different opinions and different judging methods) but I think Natasha is definitely up there as one of the best singers in the world.
"De L'Amour de Mieux" though it's not my favourite french song is an incredible song. My favourite songs from this album are Tu Trouveras, Pourquoi Tant de Larmes and Toi Qui Manques A Ma Vie.

I think Natasha is a good singer. I like Tu Trouveras and Un Ange Frappe A Ma Porte.

Welcome to the forum Arizonanatashafan. It's nice to have you here.
I love Pascal Obispo's Lucie. I didn't know Natasha sang it. Thanks for the info. I am watching the video now and Natasha does a great job with it.
