I've just ordered a book entitled "The Power Of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and will pick it up on Friday. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading and discussing it along with me?
In an interview of Lara Fabian, Lara uses the phrase "the power of now" a couple of times in a sentence, and I have to wonder if she had read the book.
Anyway, I just thought it would be interesting to read and discuss a book together. I know we've all been very busy lately, so there wouldn't be any time frame for it.
Just an idea.

I would be interested. Should be fun.
I think there might be a connection with "The Power Of Now" and Lara. It's only speculation on my part but this is why:
In Feb of 2002 I went to Lara's Montreal concert. Many of us who frequently spoke on different websites met in Montreal. There was a cocktail party before Lara's concert so we could all get to know each other. At the party we were able to write a message to Lara, in a book, that was going to be presented to her. My friend David wrote to Lara about a book he had read and thought she would like - "The Power of Now". I didn't think any more of it because I wasn't sure Lara would ever get the message book let alone read it.
In 2004 I was watching the "A Wonder Life" promo video. During the video Lara said: "What is The Last Goodbye"? Is it the last second? Is it when that part of your journey with that person comes to an end? We all have our own interpretation of that but to me it's really about 'The Power Of Now' grasping it, tasting it, and wanting to make it as if it was or could be eternity". Later in the video she says about "No Big Deal" - "There is also in that song a profound wish to make it happen now. It's all about the now. I think 'The Power Of Now' is neglected".
It could have been a coincidence. So what do you think?

I do not think it was a coincidence at all. I have seen the interview and the look in her eyes. The phrase was much more than just a passing statement. There was a lot of meaning behind those words. I think she read the message from David, read the book, and was in some way moved by it or at least parts of it.
Besides, the phrase is not one that normally is expressed. Seems like much more than a coincidence to me.
Maybe reading the book will reveal more about what lies behind Lara's lyrics.
Should be interesting and fun to read and discuss!
There is no timetable, so everyone else is more than welcome to join Paula and me in this!
