Nice forum, but it wont last. Just Tina and Toyally tina kick ass and this one is not match. Sorry to be so blunt.
This is a comment that someone named Matthew made in the Shoutbox at Shavon's new Tina Forum.
I don't understand the need for this kind of thing. First of all, nobody asked for Matthew's opinion or view of the matter. Why is it that those who feel the need to be so blunt are never asked in the first place? Apparently for good reason!
Second, what exactly was the motive behind being so blunt? Was Matthew trying to truly save Shavon the trouble of all the hard work that she is putting into this effort, or was he just being mean?
If he is being mean, I fail to understand why.
Next, the Forum was not at all created for the purpose of competing with other Tina Forums. It was created out of a love for Tina Arena by Shavon. It's an expression of something meaningful to her, a show of support for an artist that she is inspired by to create such beautiful work.
Finally, what is it that makes Just Tina and Totally Tina "kick ass" in his opinion? I'm not a member of Just Tina, but haven't heard good things about it. Totally Tina fans have posted of being banned from there for simply being members of Totally Tina.
And Totally Tina, in my opinion, is becoming more of a plaster board than a message borard. It's getting very difficult to make sense of everything that gets thrown into it on a daily basis. Video clips appear all over the place, and discusion only runs about one post deep most of the time.
Now, I am not here to criticize Just Me or Totally Tina. Both of those Forums were created out of the same love and support for Tina Arena that Shavon's was I'm sure. And I have benefitted a lot from my membership at Totally Tina by some of the visits I've made there.
But I don't understand why someone named Matthew feels the need to make such a statement. At Totally Tina there are over 200 members, most of which never make a posting. Here at FullOfGrace, we have lasted over a year now, and appear to be still going strong.
I guess I'd rather have a few members who truly become friends and carry an ongoing discussion, than have a huge membership with very little connection.
Shavon's new Tina Forum will for certain last. No doubt the postings and additions to it will be tastefully and thoughtfully done. Friendliness and courteousy being the only rule, some relationships between Tina fans will develop.
And if no one else ever joins and we are left with what it is today, I still maintain that it's one "kick ass" site!
I just feel bad that a certain Matthew felt the need to be so blunt. I guess that's Just Him, and so Totally Unfortunate.
