As this year comes to a close and another one soon begins, here's a little excercise that we can all hopefully participate in and enjoy. Please take some time to answer the ten questions below. 1. What were your favorite album discoveries of the past year? (They do not have to have been released in 2007, only that you discovered them in the past year.) Name as many as you'd like. 2. What are some of your favorite films that you have seen in the past year? 3. What are some of your favorite books that you have read this past year? 4. Tell us some of the highlights in your life from the past year. 5. Tell us some of your favorite moments from the past year. 6. Help me out with this one. I pray daily for each of you. What would you have me pray for on your behalf? 7. Tell us about some of your hopes and dreams and goals for the coming year. 8. This may seem like a strange question, but here it is. I believe charity is very important because in my opinion this old world is only as good as we make it. Those of us who have need to reach out to those who do not (voluntarily). Tell us about a cause that you are passionate about and why. 9. Let's pretend for this one. Say a genie appears to you and grants you three wishes for the year ahead. What would those three wishes be? 10. Share anything you would like to share about the past year or the year ahead that was not covered in any of the above questions. Have fun!

1. What were your favorite album discoveries of the past year? (They do not have to have been released in 2007, only that you discovered them in the past year.) Name as many as you'd like.
"Magic" ~ Bruce Springsteen "Long Road Out Of Eden" ~ Eagles "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace" ~ Foo Fighters "Gabriel's Message" ~ Matt Herskowitz
2. What are some of your favorite films that you have seen in the past year?
"Jean de Florette/Manon Of The Spring" "Histoire de Marie & Julien" "Un Coeur En Hiver" "Nathalie..." "Amazing Grace"
3. What are some of your favorite books that you have read this past year?
"Sacred Fire" ~ Peter Lillback "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality" ~ Peter Scazzaro
4. Tell us some of the highlights in your life from the past year.
I made more money this year than ever before, and I've grown a lot in my position at work.
I'm finally debt free! This is HUGE!
I think I am a better husband and father to my wife and son.
I still miss my father since his passing, and I hope I always do....
5. Tell us some of your favorite moments from the past year.
Meeting Paula in Montreal, seeing Lara Fabian in concert, and.....getting that Chrsitmas card in the mail from Leona (my eyes still well up with tears upon thinking about it).
6. Help me out with this one. I pray daily for each of you. What would you have me pray for on your behalf?
* I look forward to learning your answers to this question *
7. Tell us about some of your hopes and dreams and goals for the coming year.
I'd really like to continue growing as a person in all aspects of my life. The book "Emotional Healthy Spirituality" has been a huge help to me, and I am living it daily in my life. I believe it is making me a better man physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Out of that I can be a much more whole person, and better able to have "a heart for God and a hand to man". I believe it is making me a more passionate man.
8. This may seem like a strange question, but here it is. I believe charity is very important because in my opinion this old world is only as good as we make it. Those of us who have need to reach out to those who do not (voluntarily). Tell us about a cause that you are passionate about and why.
I really became much more familiar with a local organization called "Community Shelter for the Homeless" when an opportunity to volunteer my services presented itself. Since that time, I have made it a part of my life to contribute where I can by way of time, talent and treasure to helping this organization help others. It has been very fulfilling to my wife, son and me to know that we are helping these people who are so much in need....
9. Let's pretend for this one. Say a genie appears to you and grants you three wishes for the year ahead. What would those three wishes be?
Okay, here it is...
My first wish would be that all of us members here at LaraFullOfGrace could meet up for a weekend, maybe in Paris, perhaps somewhere in Canada...and we would gather together in a little cafe or a very authentic restaurant...some place that would create the perfect setting for people to enjoy one another's company. Maybe some nice live music, low lighting, a warm fireplace, Ricards Red (lol), delicious food, etc.
My second wish would be that we would be able to enjoy the entire weekend getting lost in each other's company. Whether we were sitting around talking and enjoying a drink, or sightseeing or whatever, the main attraction would be in discovering the wonder of each other.
My third and final wish would be that by the end of our visit, and before we would part ways, I would be able to present each of you with a gift that I know to be very dear to your hearts. For Shavon, it would be one thing, for Leona another, Paula another, and so forth. Each gift would be something that you personally hold dear as a dream come true, yet something that you have given up on dreaming for because of its seeming so out of reach.
There you have it!
10. Share anything you would like to share about the past year or the year ahead that was not covered in any of the above questions.
I think this was a great year for me.... a year in which I've grown a lot. I think I've become a more loving person; someone who is more thoughtful of others around me. I'm more appreciative of life as being something precious than ever before, and I'm beginning to desire to live my life on purpose. I want to make a difference, and I want to make a difference in people's lives. I want people to know and experience the beauty of life, and the beauty that they bring to it.
I think this past year was a stepping stone for some great things for the upcoming year. I truly look forward to it!

1. What were your favorite album discoveries of the past year? (They do not have to have been released in 2007, only that you discovered them in the past year.) Name as many as you'd like.
"My Winter Storm" ~ Tarja Turunen "Vittorio" ~ Vittorio "Century Child" ~ Nightwish
2. What are some of your favorite films that you have seen in the past year? I watch films?? The only film I watched this year was "Smile"
3. What are some of your favorite books that you have read this past year?
"This is Your Brain On Music" By Daniel Levitin "Great Singers on Great Singing" By Jerome Hines
4. Tell us some of the highlights in your life from the past year. My advancements as far as my music: Piano improvement, singing "Broken Vow", being able to write melodies to my songs.
5. Tell us some of your favorite moments from the past year.
~Singing "Broken Vow" properly.
~There's a few songs that I wrote that when I finished writing them I felt so good, they include: "The Essence", "The Abandonment", and "The Damaged Child"
6. Help me out with this one. I pray daily for each of you. What would you have me pray for on your behalf? ~ My songwriting journey ~ My friend Donna who is going through a really rough time
7. Tell us about some of your hopes and dreams and goals for the coming year.
I hope to write harmonies to my songs. Record a rough album. Get my songs published.
8. This may seem like a strange question, but here it is. I believe charity is very important because in my opinion this old world is only as good as we make it. Those of us who have need to reach out to those who do not (voluntarily). Tell us about a cause that you are passionate about and why.
Environment, I feel the earth is a blessing that we're destroying. The harm we (as the human race) are doing to the earth is threatening our children's future, lowering our quality of life, and causing sickness and disease. I support the World Wildlife Fund because I see the work and progress that they are making.
9. Let's pretend for this one. Say a genie appears to you and grants you three wishes for the year ahead. What would those three wishes be?
I record an album of my own songs. To meet everyone from here. To gain 5 pounds of healthly weight (I'm underweight). This has been on my wishlist/goals for over 5 years.
10. Share anything you would like to share about the past year or the year ahead that was not covered in any of the above questions.
This past year has not only been a confidence booster but a year of enlightenment. I have a much clearer picture of where I want to go with my life and my music. I feel really blessed to have found great friends here at FOG. I am much more at peace than I have ever been.
