HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my Canadian friends here! I truly appreciate each of you, and have fallen in love with your wonderful and beautiful country! Special appreciation must go to Leona, who means the world to me. She puts up with me a lot, and I've learned so much from her over the past couple of years. Canada has no better representative than her! Hope that you all have a great day!

Thanksgiving in October!!!! That doesn’t sound right. Just what in the heck is going on up there in Canada anyway?
Sorry, that’s just the inconsiderate, load mouth Texan in me coming out. I have to say, if you guys want to have Thanksgiving in October, you go right ahead a do it. In fact, if you even want to have something called Boxing Day right after Christmas… I am all for that too - even though I don’t have a clue as to what that is about either.
Seriously, if I couldn’t live in Texas or the U.S, Canada would be the next place I would look to hang my hat. One day, I hope to learn and understand all there is to know about Thanksgiving in October and Boxing Day. And you know what; in this months International Musician (the official musicians’ union publication), I found that the Orchestre Symphonque de Montreal will be holding auditions on January 11, 2008. But it’s for a utility trumpet position so I'm not sending in my resume.
Now as far as I am concerned; being a member of that group would be a perfect way the learn all I what to know about my friends up north. Maybe, one day.
Let me just take a moment here to let everyone know that according to the official web site of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the bass trombone position is still OPEN. After three days of auditions they didn’t pick anyone. So, as far as I am concerned, I am still in the hunt. Only now, the playing field is totally political. So, we will just see what kind of an “inside game” Ol' Jim has in the business called professional trombone playing. Unfortunately, that’s means even a more concerted and time consuming effort on my part. So, I will be posting even less than I am now. I am not even taking French lessons anymore because of this.
Don’t worry though, I will be checking in to LFOG as much as I can to keep up with what is going on. And let me say; David, you are a true beacon of sanity in the sometime unwieldy world of Lara’s music career. (Notice I didn’t say princess. Message received load and clear.) Thank you for your journalistic integrity in presenting what you find going on in Lara’s life in the unbiased, factual and thorough way that you do.
OK Canada, this leaves only on thing left. Here is a great big, giant, Texas
WWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for your Thanksgiving Day. (Whatever day it actually falls on.)
