BioIt was in 2003 that the odyssey of Canadian Idol, the popular televised competition, carried her from her village of Ste-Julienne right into the hearts of millions of Canadians. It is thanks to her courage and determination that the striking Audrey de Montigny, who communicated almost completely in French, offered her first public stage performances at the prestigious John Basset Theater in front of millions of viewers. Over the course of the competition, Audrey’s numerous appearances showcased her vocal talent to a captivated general public. Canadian Idol proved to be a worthy challenge for this young 17 year-old girl who had dreamt of being a singer since early childhood. After several months of effort and hard work, this sole representative from Quebec managed to finish with success as the last-standing female finalist of the competition. Despite the sudden popularity, which was sparked from Canadian Idol, Audrey kept her feet firmly on the ground, preferring to continue by solidly climbing the ranks. It was in the spring of 2004, that Audrey de Montigny launched her first self-titled album, which included hits, Même les Anges and Dis-moi pourquoi. Several renowned composers collaborated in the creation of this album, including David Foster and Rick Allison. Since the launch of her album, Audrey has given performances all across Quebec. It was these performances that gave the general public a chance to completely discover her warm and intoxicating voice. On stage, entirely in her element, this “authentic” artist unleashed her passion and talent like no other. As far as Audrey de Montigny was concerned, she had just begun to make her mark in the music industry, with no signs of stopping until she had blown us all away with her talent. By the fall of 2005, Audrey had pulled away from the public eye for a short time in order to devote herself fully to the production of her 2nd album. With the help of her songwriters, the singer’s wish was to communicate to her fans her authentic and personal vision through texts and melodies, which truly reflected her unique evolution. In March 2006, Audrey was invited to participate in a UNICEF fundraising event. It was at this time, in light of Sir Roger Moore’s visit to the Grand théâtre de Québec that she performed, from the Octopussy soundtrack “For your eyes only” and “All time high” accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of Quebec. The performance was an immense success. During this memorable evening, Audrey met accomplished musician Steve Barakatt for the first time: a meeting, which would soon spark a very special type of collaboration between the two. Steve decided to write a song entitled “Here we are", which the artists then sang as a duet. This song can be found on Audrey’s album "Si l’amour existe", which is available in stores September 26th 2006, as well as on Steve Barakatt’s album "Barakatt vocal Project" "Here I am" in 2007. Audrey’s highly anticipated 2nd album combines Pop, RnB and soul elements, giving it a unique color of its own. Listeners will be treated to a rhythmic and warm sounding sophomore album, highly complimented by its percussive qualities. This said, the power ballad is still an integral part of her repertoire. Songs Here we are (Steve Barakatt) and Jardins oubliés, written for UNICEF to aide in fundraising, are particularly remarkable. The album is comprised of 12 songs, showcasing once again the talents of several renowned creators such as Gerry Stober, Steve Barakatt, David Laflèche and Marc Provençal.
Forgotten Garden
There are flowers that come through around the rocks As a Forgotten garden There is the burnt earth that come to life again Under the fragile rose
All these Children that have no names Not of roof, not of house Has a story of love to redo It's written for every stone
When you are all alone in your galley All these mornings to which that help They have the necessary heart to ruin All these children that have not of age
As the birds that are born under the rain They have done their paradise In a secret garden of tenderness It's there that they are everything
In the big wheel of the universe the children carry the white flags As the soldiers after the war That one sees healing with the time
There are flowers that come through around the rocks As a Forgotten garden There is the burnt earth that come to life again Under the fragile rose
And even if one has never said to them They have to guess even when That the flowers that come through around the rocks Be the forgotten children All the forgotten children As a forgotten garden

Si tu m’entends Écoute ma prière Si tu m’entends Mais répond-moi Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends viens jusqu’à moi
Si tu m’entends Écoute ma prière Si tu m’entends Mais répond-moi Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends viens jusqu’à moi
Si tu m’entends Écoute ma prière Si tu m’entends Mais répond-moi Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends Si tu m’entends viens jusqu’à moi
If You Hear Me
If you hear me This evening I basically run if you hear me It's true, you had reason
And if my voice Returns to you I feel the strongest and I feel to slip
If you hear me Come, I have much need If you hear me Come stretch there your hand to me
And if my voice Returns to you As a child I tremble and I wait And I call you in the night
If you hear me Listen to my prayer If you hear me But answer me If you hear me If you hear me if you hear me come unto me
If you hear me is this madness or good insanity If you hear me As a flash of lightning in the silence
And if my voice Returns to you As a child I tremble and I wait And I call you in the night
If you hear me Listen to my prayer If you hear me But answer me If you hear me If you hear me if you hear me come unto me
If you hear me This evening I basically run If you hear me It's true, you had reason
If you hear me Listen to my prayer If you hear me But answer me If you hear me If you hear me if you hear me come unto me

Meme Les Anges
Even the Angels
No, you can not wait for me Me, I still have to learn Oh no, you don't have even an idea As I have craved of staying
No, you know even the angels Are sometimes a little strange Listen to me for the last time:
No, I don't love you I adore you
No importance where in the world Every second I think of you
No importance where in the world I am your shadow Where you are
No, I can not stay My dream has a price to pay Oh no I can not take me To look at you suffering
No, I am not so strong But I go to cross this door Look at me for the last time
No, I don't love you I adore you
No importance where in the world Every second I think of you
No importance where in the world I am your shadow Where you are

An End of You
Every day and every night I search for a reason And every object every word Are your forms or your name
And everytime This is never far This that goes up on me
When falls a tear Evening after evening When falls a tear It's an end of history When falls a tear It falls every time An end of you
What's the rhyme, what's served All flys away in smoke For that I believe, for that I hope I can no longer advance
And everytime This is never far This that goes up on me
When falls a tear Evening after evening When falls a tear It's an end of history When falls a tear It falls every time An end of you ...of you and of me
And if it forgets my freedom My joys are ephemeral (short-lived)
When falls a tear Evening after evening When falls a tear It's an end of history When falls a tear It falls every time An end of you ...of you and of me

Juste Adieux
Just Goodbye
One speaks of sorrow Yet I know good There is no longer nothing already A few hours Still
And how to tell you This that I feel Which is the name of sentiments A few words to finish Then
I am there for no one In spite of everrything this that you give The souvenirs we take away To every moment You know
A day It is necessary that one moves away My heart is in battle I no longer want to lie In front of you And even if I regret it It's also my defeat More than a thing to tell you Just goodbye
It stays for you a chance For another love Know that will come a day All this well be well far away
I am there for no one In spite of everrything this that you give The souvenirs we take away To every moment You know
A day It is necessary to worry My heart is in battle I no longer want to lie In front of you And even if I regret it It's also my defeat More than a thing to tell you Just goodbye
A day It is necessary to worry My heart is in battle I no longer want to lie In front of you It's also my defeat It is necessary to say goodbye And it's this way the gamble And it's this way that I tell you Just goodbye Just goodbye

Audrey has recorded a verion of John Lennon's "Love" for Amnesty International. The track is available as a legal download at noise.amnesty.org"I am honoured to be singing 'Love' by John Lennon, and to be accompanied by Steve Barakatt on the piano. Merci, Madame Yoko Ono. I chose this song because of its relevance to Amnesty International and to the Make Some Noise message. Love can also mean human rights. Life! Not war" ~ Audrey de Montigny This track is so beautiful.

i had actually voted for Audrey on canadian idol and was hoping she would be at the final. i like her voice. i was unsure if i should buy her 2nd album but now i think i will. i hope more quebec artists will become mainstream in english canada.
(i can't wait for Eva Avila's second album. she's already well-known in english).
