"Close My Eyes" By Mariah Carey (Written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff)
I was a wayward child With the weight of the world That I held deep inside Life was a winding road And I learned many things Little ones shouldn't know
But I closed my eyes Steadied my feet on the ground Raised my head to the sky And though time's rolled by Still feel like that child As I look at the moon Maybe I grew up A little too soon
Funny how one can learn To grow numb to the madness And block it away I let the worst unsaid Let it all dissipate And I try to forget
As I closed my eyes Steadied my feet on the ground Raised my head to the sky And though time's rolled by Still feel like that child As I look at the moon Maybe I grew up A little too soon
Nearing the edge Oblivious I almost Fell right over A part of me Will never be quite the same To feel Stable That woman-child falling inside Was on the verge of fading Thankfully I Woke up in time
Guardian angel I Sail away on an ocean With you by my side Orange clouds roll by They burn into your image And you're still alive (You're always alive)
As I close my eyes Steady my feet on the ground Raise my head to the sky And though time's rolls by Still feel like a child As I look at the moon Maybe I grew up A little too soon

* Love Can Break Your Fall * By Grant Cunningham and Mark Hammond
Don't turn away, just say what you need to say You're not alone, but you've got to move on Got to let go when the passion surrenders When the dream you've shared is no longer there Though it hurts so much Tell me, how in the world can you blame it on love
CHORUS: And don't say it's love that broke your heart When you trusted someone Cause love's the victim, not the crime And love will be there to break your fall If you'll trust in love, just in love Know that love could never break your heart But love can break your fall
I know it's hard to trust again But I'll stay with you, stay with me now Let go of your heartache, learn to forgive Won't you wait just a moment And give your heart a chance to begin again Though you've run before Tell me, where will you go if you walk out the door
BRIDGE: I could never have found my own way It was God's love that saved this heart of mine from dying And when you find His love is all that you have Then you see love is all that you need
And don't say it's love that broke your heart When it's over and done Believe in love forever Cause love will be there to break your fall If you'll trust in love, just in love Know that love would never Break your heart but love can break your fall

"Poem To a Horse" By Shakira (Lyrics by Shakira)
You're too far to bring you close And too high to see below Just hanging on your daily dose
I know you never needed anyone But the rolling papers for your grass How can you give what you don't have
You keep aiming for the top And quit before you sweat a drop Feed your empty brain With your hydroponic pot Start out playing with yourself You get more fun within your shell Nice to meet you but I gotta go my way
I'll leave again cause I've been waiting in vain But you're so in love with yourself If I say my heart is sore Sounds like a cheap metaphor So I won't repeat it no more
I rather eat my soup with a fork Or drive a cab in New York Cause to talk to you is harder work
So what's the point of wasting all my words If it's the same or even worse Than reading poems to a horse
You keep on aiming for the top And quit before you sweat a drop Feed your empty brain With your hydroponic pot I bet you'll find someone like you Cause there's a foot for every shoe I wish you luck but I've other things to do
I'll leave again cause I've been waiting in vain But you're so in love with yourself If I say my heart is sore Sounds like a cheap metaphor So I won't repeat it no more
I'll leave again cause I've been waiting in vain But you're so in love with yourself If I say my heart is sore Sounds like a cheap metaphor So I won't repeat it no more

"Same Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg
Met my old lover in a grocery store The snow was falling Christmas Eve Stole behind her in the frozen foods and I touched her on the sleeve She didn't recognize the face at first but then her eyes flew open wide Tried to hug me and she spilled her purse and we laughed until we cried
Took her groceries to the checkout stand The food was totaled up and bagged stood there lost in our embarrassment as the conversation dragged Went to have ourselves a drink or two but couldn't find an open bar Bought a six-pack at the liquor store and we drank it in the car
We drank a toast to innocence, we drank a toast to now Tried to reach beyond the emptiness but neither one knew how
She said she'd married her an architect Kept her warm and safe and dry She said she'd like to say she loved the man but she didn't want to lie I said the years had been a friend to her and that her eyes were still as blue But in those eyes I wasn't sure if I saw doubt or gratitude She said she saw me in the record store and that I must be doing well I said the audience was heavenly but the traveling was hell
We drank a toast to innocence we drank a toast to time We're living in our eloquence, another old lang syne
The beers were empty and our tongues grew tired and running out of things to say She gave a kiss to me as I got out and I watched her drive away Just for a moment I was back in school And felt that old familiar pain And as I turned to make my way back home the snow turned into rain

"The Heart Never Forgets" By LeAnn Rimes (Written by Jerry Williams, Frank L. Myers, Gary Baker)
Went through the attic today, Found a note you wrote packed away. And I started reliving the past, When I saw his face. Suddenly, to my surprise, I felt a tear fall from my eyes.
The heart never forgets, No the heart never forgets. You can find someone, And live your life, Put an old memory out of your mind, But the heart never forgets.
A face on a crowded street, An old movie on T.V., A song on the radio Can bring it all back.
Years roll by, One by one, All things change, But there's always someone,
The heart never forgets, No the heart never forgets. You can find someone, And live your life, Put an old memory out of your mind, But the heart never forgets.
The heart never forgets, No the heart never forgets. You can find someone, And live your life, Put an old memory out of your mind, But the heart never forgets.
No the heart never forgets.

It's a song worth checking out! An older song, so it might take a little search. But one I think you would really like. Sung in a simple, conversational, beautiful way. Ballad-folk-pop 70's music at it's best! Let me know if you ever find and hear it! I'd love to know what are your thoughts!
