This is one of my favourite songs.
"Demons" By Brian McFadden
Have you ever been lost in a different world Where everything you once knew Is gone And you find yourself powerless With everything that exist You'll know
Aah, aah, aah Will I ever break free?
I search my world but I can't find you You're standing there but I can't touch you Try to talk but the words are just not there I can feel a sense of danger You're staring me like I'm a stranger Paralyzed and you don't seem to care The demons in my dreams
If you become a nobody Lying to your family Who would you be? And life has gone into reverse Reliving every hurt Along the way
Aah, aah, aah Everything that you fear Is caught in you and drawing near
Search my world but I can't find you You're standing there but I can't touch you Try to talk but the words are just not there I can feel a sense of danger You're staring me like I'm a stranger Paralyzed and you don't seem to care The demons in my dreams
Wake me up and let's go Yeah I'm about to explode Yeah
I search my world but I can't find you You're standing there but I can't touch you Try to talk but the words are just not there I can feel a sense of danger You're staring me like I'm a stranger Paralyzed and you don't seem to care The demons in my dreams

Hey, great idea for a thread! I really like these lyrics! I am not familiar with Brian McFadden, other than his song with Delta Goodrem. He has a great voice, and seems to have very thought-provoking lyrics. What can you tell me about him? Which of his albums would you suggest?

Here's one by Triumph that I always loved. Man, I used to listen to this group A LOT when I was young! FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT Words and music by RIK EMMETT
The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long Feels like we're running out of time Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong You got to read between the lines
Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can Make it through another day Make it worth the price we pay
The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive I do my best to do my part Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve I keep my magic in my heart
Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby I am counting on you You know what you've got to do
CHORUS: Fight the good fight every moment Every minute every day Fight the good fight every moment It's your only way
All your life you've been waiting for your chance Where you'll fit into the plan But you're the master of your own destiny So give and take the best that you can
You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest You'd better think of something else instead You're so afraid of being honest with yourself You'd better take a look inside your head
Nothing is easy, nothing good is free But I can tell you where to start Take a look inside your heart There's an answer in your heart

Brian McFadden used to be in the Irish boyband "Westlife" his only solo album is "Irish Son" which I found has a lot of thought-provoking songs. "Irish Son" also has the duet with Delta. He used to be married to Kerry Katona, who was from the band Atomic Kitten, and has two children from that relationship. There's a very beautiful song on the album called Sorry Love Daddy, that is to his kids. His first solo single "Real to Me" went #1 in the UK.
Thanks for sharing that song Mark. It has very beautiful and encouraging lyrics and has a great sentiment towards living life.

....another song by Triumph that I listened to over and over again in my youth!
"Ordinary Man"
Look in the mirror tell me what do you see Or can you lie to yourself like you're lyin' to me Do you fall asleep real easy feelin' justified and right Or do you wake up feelin' empty in the middle of the night You want to think you're different, but you know you never can You're just another ordinary man
Hey politician, can't believe a word you say Almighty media, whose truth d'you sell today? Watchdog of justice, who keeps their eye on you? Con man, song in hand, who you singin' to? The more I get to see, the less I understand I'm just another ordinary man
CHORUS: Ordinary man Comes a time to take a stand
No rest for the wicked - they get it while they can The preachers and the teachers and your local Congressman Everybody plays the game they played since time began Lawyers and accountant - your media man
Everybody's talkin' but nothin's gettin' said You're looking for the truth you better look inside your head I see the flash of lightnin' I hear the thunder roll A hungry knive, a slice of life It cuts another soul
Power finds a way to those who take a stand Stand up ordinary man
Once I thought the truth was gonna set me free But now I feel the chains of its responsibility I will not be a puppet I cannot play it safe I'll give myself away with a blind and simple faith I'm just the same as you I just do the best I can That's the only answer...for an ordinary man
CHORUS
No such thing as easy answers You play to win and you take your chances
CHORUS
Here's to health, here's to wealth May you never doubt yourself

"Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" By LeAnn Rimes (Written by John Kennedy and Tammi Kidd)
Got a date a week from Friday woith the preacher's son Everybody says he's crazy, I'll have to see
I finally moved to Jackson when the summer came I won't have to pay that boy to rake my leaves
I'm probably going on and on It seems I'm doing more of that these days
I probably wouldn't be this way I probably wouldn't hurt so bad I never pictured every minute without you in it You left so fast Sometimes I see you standing there Sometimes it's lik I'm losing touch (I feel an angel's touch)
Sometimes I feel like I'm so lucky to have Had the chance to love this much God give me a moment's grace Cause if I'd never seen your face I probably wouldn't be this way
Mama says that I just shouldn't speak to you Susan says that I should just move on
You oughta see the way people look at me When they see me 'round here talking to this stone
Everybody thinks I've lost my mind But I just take it day by day
I probably wouldn't be this way I probably wouldn't hurt so bad I never pictured every minute without you in it You left so fast Sometimes I see you standing there Sometimes it's lik I'm losing touch (I feel an angel's touch)
Sometimes I feel like I'm so lucky to have Had the chance to love this much God give me a moment's grace Cause if I'd never seen your face I probably wouldn't be this way
Got a date a week from Friday with the preacher's son Everybody says I'm crazy, guess Ill have to see

"Wasted Time" by The Eagles
Well baby, there you stand With your little head, down in your hand Oh, my god, you can’t believe it’s happening Again Your baby’s gone, and you’re all alone And it looks like the end.
And you’re back out on the street. And you’re tryin’ to remember. How will you start it over? You don’t know if you can. You don’t care much for a stranger’s touch, But you can’t hold your man.
You never thought you’d be alone this far Down the line And I know what’s been on your mind You’re afraid it’s all been wasted time
The autumn leaves have got you thinking About the first time that you fell, well. You didn’t love the boy too much, no, no You just loved the boy too, well, farewell So you live from day to day, and you dream About tomorrow, oh. And the hours go by like minutes And the shadows come to stay So you take a little something to Make them go away And I could have done so many things, baby If I could only stop my mind from wondrin’ what I left behind and from worrying ’bout this wasted time
Ooh, another love has come and gone Ooh, and the years keep rushing on I remember what you told me before you went out on your own: ’sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone.’ So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can Get on with mine And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn’t really Wasted time
This is one of my all-time favorite songs....beautifully sung and very sad.

"Love Is An Army" By LeAnn Rimes (Written by Gyan Evans)
Fear is an army Fighting against me Fighting a lost cause If I could only change their uniform They'd be soldiers of love Marching on and on
Love is an army Waiting for me Waiting for this girl If I could only stretch my arms around you I'd suddenly see There ain't nothing wrong with me Hear
Words fly out The roof of my mouth They found a flaw In my armor Heart so still Your beating will Heal the wars I remember, remember
Blue is the ocean Calling me in Calling me near If I could only learn To breathe down here I know I would be At home under the sea Yeah
Words fly our The roof of my mouth They found a flaw In my armor Heart so still Your beating will Heal the wars I remember, remember
I'll bend my sword Against the world I'll push on through In spite of you
Heart so still
Love is an army Waiting for me Waiting for this girl
This is one of my favourite songs ever. It's a really beautiful song.

"Lonely Wind" by Kansas (another favorite group of mine that I grew up listening to a lot)
When I'm needin' a friend I can talk to the wind God I sure am glad that I found him Sometimes he seems to be the only one beside me Who can feel the Lord's breath all around him Winter's cold frozen ice or a bright autumn day On a warm summer night you can hear him say
Cry for me, sigh for me, sad breezes flow Stay for me, play for me, the song my friends will know My lonely wind must blow
Mighty friend that is mine, can you give me a sign? He'll leave nothing but only to hear him I've seen the tall trees bend low when his mighty winds blow And that's all the more reason I fear him Hear him call for the earth lonely I can feel his great pain But on the eve of this day I'll join in his refrain
When I'm needing a friend I'll remember the wind And my life here with the breezes of sorrow I'll be leaving him soon 'cause I've got to make room For the lonely that will find him tomorrow On a black stormy night in your bosom I'll cling And I'll know I've found love and the last song we'll sing
