A week of celebration and revelation for Lara, perhaps her best week of the year [although there have only been two… ].
Lara gave four more concerts, the first segment of the France/Belgium component of the 50 World Tour. The first concert took place in Roubaix; some videos are available:
Roubaix

Pas sans toi, duet with Priscilia Michaux: www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7HC7-3DLPY

The highlight of the concert was the first of the “duets” that Lara has arranged based on videos sent in to her using the ”smule” website. The duet with Priscilia Michaux was sensational – as good as Lara could have hoped. It was a great choice on her part.
Following the concert, Lara left the following picture and message on her Instagram site,
and the comment, “Thank you Roubaix ... what a nice moment to share together .... I love you 💕❤️”
The highlight of the week, of course, was her 50th birthday celebration concert in Brussels. By all reports – and in the videos available – the atmosphere was electric (as can be gathered by viewing the ‘Adagio’ video below), with some people reporting it was the best concert they’ve ever seen.
First, a video of Lara’s arrival in Brussels:

As Lara was given champagne near the end of the concert (seen on the “Je t’aime/Pas san toi” video above, there was the following:
“A release of thousands of magical butterflies, a grandiose event that lit the concert hall of the Forest National.
🙏 special thanks to Pierre Yves Duchesne, to Manu Pitois, the Forest National Security Team, the white butterflies team and its president Marion Molet and to all the fans who did an exceptional job.” [Thanks to the Lara Fabian Web FB site for copying this info]. During the show there were many cameras following Lara, and some fans hoped it would result in a DVD. Others thought it was for TV shows in France and Quebec. If it’s not for a DVD that would be a shame.
One example of such a TV appearance can be found on RTL Into reporting on the event, at

Then following this show, Lara left this picture on her Instagram site,
with the heartfelt statement, “I wanted to thank you ... everyone ... for your words, your expressions of affection, your surprises, your flowers, your smiles ... and your faithful love quite simply ...
Celebrating my 50 years on stage at your side was obvious to me ... and I will never forget this moment of communion and sharing ... You made this day of January 9, 2020 an instant imperishable ... deepest in my heart, thank you again .... i love you 🙏💕 so much ... 💕

50 years of Lara Fabian: Her Moving Tribute to Her Parents
The singer celebrated her birthday this Thursday at Forest National, with her audience. And she notably honored her dad, present in the room, and her mom, who died last March.
50 years. A milestone in everyone's life. But a stage that Lara Fabian has chosen to take - and especially to celebrate - in the company of her audience! This Thursday, January 9, her birthday, she gave at Forest National to 7,000 fans, what will undoubtedly remain the most significant concert of her current tour, her "50 World Tour". And we immediately understood the importance of this meeting with Belgium when her first words were for her country: "It's great to be at home and with you this evening!"
For two hours, Lara revisited her repertoire and her 30 years of career, resuming her greatest successes, sometimes offering new versions of her songs, and punctuating each time the different pieces of anecdotes, often funny, with this zest of self-mockery that characterizes her, as when she evokes her outfit during Eurovision when she sung "Croire" [Believe] ("With a jacket of this color, you had to believe it"), and when she describes the dumbfounded air of some of her first spectators, who gave the impression of wondering "Why does she yell, that one". Yep, barely in the business and already labeled ...
The concert opened with "Adagio" which immediately won her a standing-ovation. Cheers that will be repeated throughout the evening at the option of "Je suis malade", "J’y croire encore", "La difference", "Immortelle" ... But Lara Fabian also took the opportunity to pay tribute to her parents, starting with her dad, who was present in the room. "If I'm here tonight, it's all thanks to you. If you weren't inhabited by music, all of this wouldn't have happened. You spent the savings of a lifetime to produce this first album. It was in this faith that you had that I won my determination. Dad, I love you!"
Her other words were for her mom, the big one absent from the evening, since she died last March after a long fight against the disease Alzheimer’s. "She loved me in this exceptional way as only moms can love, without ever expecting anything in return. This way of being just her. She was a woman who gave me everything she is and who continues to do it."
Lara also paid tribute to Maurane by repeating "Je suis ton autre" and "Sur une prélude de Bach", two songs which she subtly mixed. Moments of emotion while restraint, with true accuracy, which will remain etched in the memories of spectators.

Wonderful review for a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Staying on the subject of her birthday for a moment, France Bleu produced a video with some facts about Lara’s life, at
www.facebook.com/francebleuprovence/videos/844854389279543/UzpfSTI0NjgwNTY1MjAwMTY0NDozMzU2NjE3Nzc3Njg3MDY3/?type=3&eid=ARACnHWNQiSLDoOR2DbC7-o80gEZ2VBYrVgPqUAsc0ulKRlAi--Nst6oWTqbyP70aqFhOMi-B5uFRFRm&__tn__=EEHH-R
Most of these are familiar to this audience (the origin of her childhood nickname Butterly; Eurovision; her childhood studies in criminology (if she couldn’t make it as a singer); and Lara’s posing nude at the age of 45, saying she wouldn’t have done it 10 years earlier and nobody would want to see it 10 years later (said while laughing).
Then it was on to Metz, where there were many videos (only the ones of sufficient length are indicated below):

During the show, as can be seen in the ‘Humana +’ video above, Lara delivered a gift to a fan. This was part of the shooting of the program La Lettre for France 2, as is said in the following:
About yesterday... shooting of the show #La Lettre for @ france2... a beautiful surprise that Lara Fabian reserved for one of her fans... in Metz... #ilovemyjob #ilovemyartist

It will be shown (on France 2) on February 1.
Finally, to Chalons-en-Champagne (from which videos may become available). After that, Lara concluded those concerts again with a picture and comment on Instagram,
and her words, “Thank you Metz, thank you Chalons-en-Champagne ... I spent two wonderful evenings by your side ... Good week to everyone ... 🙏💕💋
# 50WorldTour”
The 'revelation' Lara released, in the midst of the tour, came once again on Instagram, with Lara showing a picture of herself with Moh Denebi, at
and writing (in English), “New music ... coming up ... 😃😃😃😃💕💕💕💕💕💋”
This immediately led people to believe that Lara will be producing another English album shortly. Remember, she said she had another project she wanted to complete, and didn’t want to explain because that would ruin the surprise. Perhaps Lara mentioned it in the following article…
The other big news is that The Voice starts this coming Saturday, and so there were a lot of articles, TV shows, etc. focused on that. First another promo, displaying the powerful voice of one of the contestants:
www.facebook.com/the.voice.tf1/videos/461463398070565/UzpfSTI0NjgwNTY1MjAwMTY0NDozMzU2NjI5ODU3Njg1ODU5/?type=3&eid=ARACnHWNQiSLDoOR2DbC7-o80gEZ2VBYrVgPqUAsc0ulKRlAi--Nst6oWTqbyP70aqFhOMi-B5uFRFRm&__tn__=EEHH-R
Then some of the many articles and shows which naturally involved Lara.
1) She was featured on the cover of “Nous Deux”

Lara Fabian
At 50 Years, She Shines
The singer celebrates her birthday this week and (finally) seems fully fulfilled. Love, family career…In 2020, everything smiles on her.
The year which begins is to be marked with a white stone for Lara Fabian. First on a personal basis, since the singer is blowing out 50 candles on January 9. A cap that she seems to approach with great serenity. Then professional side, with her participation in the broadcast The Voice and the launching of her world tour, the 50 World Tour, which counts fifteen dates in the Hexagon. Reunion awaited with her public. It must be said that her French fans have missed her. Her last appearance actually dates back to June 16, 2018 during the only concert in France of her world tour for her thirteenth album, Camouflage.
However, since then she has not been unemployed. International tours, education of her daughter and TV shows across the Atlantic have paced her life. As for her health problems, they are now behind her.
In May 2013, the singer suffered serious damage to the inner ear due to a technical incident on a television set. The volume sent into her earphones is so loud that the singer of “Je t'aime” loses balance and falls on the floor in the middle of a rehearsal. Unable to hear herself sing after this incident, Lara Fabian then cancels the end of her tour.
When last November concerts were canceled for health reasons, the fans of the star are worried again. For nothing! their idol reassures them. "I quite simply couldn’t stand up, she says on social media. It was Meniere's disease [a chronic disease that affects the inner ear}, which caused me to be very tense and unable to stand on my feet. Fortunately, I received good treatments.” Treatments that could not have been enough without the love that her public has for her. "I want to thank you for this incredible support and your kind messages, it meant a lot to me."
Her Family, Her Pillar
Other weighty supporters: Lou, her daughter, aged 12, and Gabriel, her husband since 2013. It is from them that the "100% Italian mamma", as she likes to describe herself, has been revitalized during this difficult period. And her family remains a priority. Now restored and set out on the road to success, Lara Fabian tries to never leave the house too long. "And when I come back, our daily lives resume their rights”, she confided in Paris Match last year. “I do my shopping, I arrange my kitchen, I prepare to eat. It is very important to keep hold of our lives, to be its architects."
A daily existence besides more important, in her eyes, than the artist's life. As proof, the condition, sine qua non for the participation of the celebrity in the reality show "The Voice": not to be gone too long from Quebec, where she moved with her daughter and her husband a few years ago. The producer of the show "did everything to arrange for me and that I can keep my commitments”, explained the new juror, to the magazine Gala. “Without impinging on the moments that I reserve for my family. It was out of the question that I move from Quebec, where I have my life, my house, my husband, Gabriel and my daughter Lou who is 12 years old, and is schooled". A little girl who recently revealed her face, and who shared the first make-up with pride. Now the singer is no longer afraid of revealing part of her privacy.
An Album with her Husband
Stronger, more sure of her choices, Lara Fabian also gained confidence thanks to her husband Gabriel Di Giorgio. This Italian magician, thirteen years younger, was able to reassure her. "I understood that my look at our age difference worried me more than that of others. In reality, part of me is a child and part of him is an old sage, it works like that," says she who shares Italian origins with the man of her life. "We met in Sicily where he was born, like my mother. He is the friend of a woman in my family." One common point among many. Lara Fabian wants to work on an album with her husband, who is also a singer and songwriter. But here now, the new juror of The Voice has work to do.
The Voice, A New Meeting with he Public
After the broadcast of the television program La Voix, the Quebec version of The Voice, Lara Fabian decided to join the jury of the program of TF1. “I enjoyed sharing during two seasons all these emotions with my Quebec friends…And I am happy today to be able to share them equally with my French public by integrating The Voice, declared the singer when she rejoined the adventure. “Why are people thinking of me this year? Perhaps because I am someone very empathetic, essential quality to participate in this kind of program. And probably also because of my experience: it's been thirty years that I do this job, with ups and downs." And always the same loyalty to her audience, who make it good by honoring all the meetings she gives them.
-----------------------------------
A new album with her husband? I guess we’ll find out…
2)And Lara was on the cover of Tele Magazine,

Once again, here’s the translation, thanks to the scans of the Lara Fabian – PHQ site:

The Voice Takes A New Path
A season under the sign of renewal and authenticity thanks to an unprecedented quartet of coaches and the comeback of great French songs and powerful voices.
See these four at work ... it's to go from surprise to surprise. In this afternoon in late November, great ambiance in the studios of La Paline-Saint-Denis. While the public comes alive, not yet anesthetized by hours of traffic jams at the gates of Paris due to strikes, the new coaches put on a show. Pascal Obispo, for example, does not hold his place and gets up on his seat for a yes or for a no, perhaps imagining himself on the stage of one of the many Zenith de France which he gave. Passionate and competitive, he had left his mark on season 7 of the "L’animateur”. This year, it's him." He is well into his head at the moment,” confirms Marc Lavoine, one of the two newcomers to the year. “His thing is to know why ... "Why did you just come here? Why are you singing?" He takes pleasure in asking. "We are part of a team where collective intelligence is at the service of artists. We take them seriously," explains Marc. Author, performer, he is one of the most beautiful feathers of French songs. He is a true lover of words. Amel Bent. she also does not lack the vocabulary to encourage this or that or get enthusiastic. The youngest of the famous reality members did her classes with "Kids" for two seasons. An attentive coach, the former candidate of Nouvelle Star is always frank and will be able to share her talents with her fifteen years of career. Lara Fabian, she leaves us speechless this Wednesday, starting to advise a candidate to sing ... less loud. "A youthful defect", she explains! Thirty years of international career, 20 million discs sold: Lara Fabian is one of the greatest voices in the world, with a rare range of four octaves. Her two-year experience in La Voix, the Quebec version of the show, more than legitimizes her place here this season. In short, two women and two men with lots of character and distinct universes. “We really wanted to have parity within the team of coaches”, explains producer Matthieu Grelier who has not hidden having wanted to return with TF1 to the "fundamentals" of the show. 20,000 people have applied. Only 110 were selected to confront the coaches. They came from the four corners of France but also from the world: Mongols, Kanaks, Wallis-et-Futuna, talents from the Maghreb, Canada, Mali, but also from Scotland and Ireland. Incredible meetings, semi-professionals or pure amateurs, such as this nougat seller, this banker, this retiree or this sports teacher. This season, the mechanics have been simplified. Priority to exchanges: the coaches will once again turn around and move in with all the talents, even those not selected. The competition will be tougher since the teams only include fourteen places. No more talent theft will be possible, either at: Battles or during the" KOs, live broadcasts will now take place in a large Parisian concert hall, in contact with the public. Finally, at the end of the semi-final, only the televiewers will designate the four finalists, and the evening of the grand final, they will elect the big winner of the edition 2020. There is nothing that guarantees to find there a talent of each team ... A same coach can so very well have several of his foals in the final. All this under the watchful eye of Nikos Aliagas, faithful to the observation post ... that constitutes the "Family Room", now just off the stage, a few meters from the coaches armchairs, for more proximity and emotions. Some of the novelties for this season 9.
-------------------------------
Lara has said that she was very happy that when someone got no ‘takers’, the coaches could talk with that person and explain why that was. This did not happen in Quebec, or generally in France, and Lara thought it was the compassionate thing to do.
3) And then, one more article about The Voice, in TeleStar for 1/13, first with another cover
www.facebook.com/larafabianphq/photos/pcb.1982935935186403/1982935351853128/?type=3&theater
And then the translation:
--------------------------------------------
Amel Bent and Lara Fabian: Our Role is to Give Confidence to the Talents
It is a brand new jury which officiates in The Voice season 9 this year! Alongside Marc Lavoine and Pascal Obispo, Amel Bent and Lara Fabian, two vocal singers, two women who intend to give everything. Interview with the shocking female duo.
Nikos resumes his post at the animation of this new season of The Voice in front of an unprecedented jury in which Lara Fabian and Amel Bent are determined to give voice so as not to play the extras. "Back to basics", "authenticity", “new". All the elements of language were used during the presentation to the press of this new season of The Voice. “We wanted to focus on the voices including in the choice of the jury with newcomers such as Lara Fabian and Marc Lavoine. Pascal Obispo returns, as for Amel Bent, she goes for the first time in the adult version", explains the producer Matthieu Grelier. This new edition means to be more tightened with fewer episodes. 14 candidates per team instead of 18 in the preceding years and the abrogation of the rule of theft of talent. On the other hand, if nobody has buzzed, the coaches are again authorized to exchange with the singers who were not retained. They were 20,000 to contact the production but only 110 arrived to the blind auditions. Among them, a banker, a quintet of Russian priests, a chocolatier ... From the beginning, Amel Bent and Lara Fabian were determined. In exclusive, the two lionesses of the jury reveal what drives them.
Amel, you were a juror in The Voice Kids, Lara you were in the Quebec version. How did this experience feed you for this season?
AB: With kids, my mother side took over. With adults, I am more cash.
Lara Fabian: I understand it as a new experience in transmissions. In both versions, the values are identical: it is a question of kindness, listening, willingness to support ... This support is however different depending on whether it is a French cultural identity or a Quebec cultural identity.
Which stage do you prefer?
LF: Each stage has its charm, that of blind auditions is particularly interesting. There is nothing stronger than being deeply moved without an image.
AB: The most exciting stage for me is coaching. We get to know them, we work, this is the only time I push my vision on them.
What form will your coaching take?
LF: I have very different talents in my team. My strong point is adaptability. My coaching consists of both pushing the artists into what they already know how to do well and also inviting them to leave the comfort zone. It is very interesting to see what they are capable of when they are no longer in the register to which they are accustomed. There is so much wealth to seek out on the sidelines of who we are.
AB: I want to surprise. I know exactly where I want to take my talents, that which I can make them sing to impress others. I don't make any choices by chance. And I’m not here to do TV. Our role is to support, but it is also to allow everyone to explore registers which they had not thought of or on which they would not have gone of themselves. It is also a way to give them confidence. If I offer them a title, it is because I said that they can present something interesting. We are in the exchange of transmission and pleasure. I want them to tell me a story.
In which team is the winner?
AB: The winner is at Pascal's. I fought but he did not come to me.
LF: I have no competitive spirit at all. I'm not here to win. I even said to one of the talents who hesitated to go to Marc Lavoine I felt that it was what was best for him. I do not hide from you that Production kindly gave me a reprise ...
What quality do you see in each other?
LF: Amel is very comfortable in this exercise, first because she is naturally benevolent, then because she is not at all complacent. She has a communicative joy. She is bright and warm. There is something very pure about her. And if there is a common trait between all of us, it is without doubt our childlike sides. This is what allows us to be connected with the talents facing us. We remember that one day, we had the same dream as them.
AB; Lara is tender. She is soft, reassuring, enveloping like a mom. I have such admiration for her, she rocked my childhood. She is one of those who made me want to do this job. It’s difficult when she’s there, right next door, to hide that. So, I sub-vocalize a lot in my head to keep in mind that we are both on this program, equal. I say to myself: Go ahead Amel, you're not nothing, you're legitimized too, go for it! "
What have you discovered about other coaches that you didn't know about?
AB: I was pleasantly surprised by Pascal Obispo. We have known each other for years, but we are not close friends. I always saw him in control and there, I discovered that he was able to split the armor. That touched me a lot. As for Marc, he is a great philosopher. I like his generosity, I could spend hours listening to him.
LF: It's easy to love Pascal Obispo, I love what he is, the look he puts on people. Regarding Marc Lavoine, I appreciate his humility, his wisdom and his density.
-----------------------------------------------
Lara may think she’s not competitive, but anyone who saw La Voix would beg to differ .
A video (associated with The Voice) of Lara answering some questions was provided by the Lara Fabian Coeur de Lumiere FB site, at
www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1149777925413674
Here are the questions and answers:
------------------------------------------
The song which… accompanied you here?
LF: Marc Cohn, “Walking in Memphis”.
…Woke you up this morning?
LF: The noise of the coffee machine.
…Is perfect for putting you to sleep?
LF: I would say a Nocturne of Chopin.
…Is banned by your friends because they can't stand it anymore?
LF: That must surely be “Je t’aime”.
…Which you have sung most in your life?
LF: I don’t know if it’s “Je suis malade” or “Je t’aime” but one is not far away I think.
…That made you vibrate the most during a concert
LF: It is one of the last concerts that I’ve been to see of Peter Gabriel, when he sang again “Don’t Give Up”.
…Is perfect for dancing.
LF: It is Dancing Queen of ABBA
----------------------------
I would think “Je t’aime” would win; though apparently not among her acquaintances!
And then there was another one, at
www.facebook.com/watch/?v=489300958633619
-------------------------------------
The greatest beast on stage of all time
LF: Christina Aguilera truly impressed me.
The first concert that you saw?
LF: It is France Gall when I was a kid.
The last?
LF: Panic at the Disco. He is my favorite singer anyway, Brendon Urie.
The most improbable demand of a fan?
LF: To sign his underpants and luckily, he didn't take them off in front of me.
The place where you dream of playing.
LF: At Taormina, in the Bay of Angels. In the Greek Theater in Sicily therefore, my island.
The song that you would love to have written?
LF: “Voir un ami pleurer” of Jacques Brel.
The best concert of your life?
LF: It is Pavarotti, it was from another world. He was a guy who was connected to heaven.
The featuring of your dreams?
LF: It is not improbable this featuring, but I would like to do it with Gims!
------------------------------
FYI: "Taormina is a hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. It sits near Mount Etna, an active volcano with trails leading to the summit. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today. Near the theater, cliffs drop to the sea forming coves with sandy beaches." [Wikipedia]
And just to be clear, ‘featuring’ in this context means: “The term featuring (English, in the sense of “figuring”), often abbreviated as feat, feat., Ft, ft., F or even f., Is often used in the music industry to indicate the participation of an artist in someone else’s track or album, whether that participation is important like singing a verse or a refrain, or more discreet like the cover or remix of one of their samples (from music in French).
We may expect more shows leading up to Saturday’s program.

Lara’s next scheduled concert isn’t until February 1st in Greece, so it will likely be "all The Voice all the time" for Lara for the next couple of weeks. But undoubtedly memories of her birthday concert will stay with her for the rest of her life.

Lara gave four more concerts, the first segment of the France/Belgium component of the 50 World Tour. The first concert took place in Roubaix; some videos are available:

The highlight of the concert was the first of the “duets” that Lara has arranged based on videos sent in to her using the ”smule” website. The duet with Priscilia Michaux was sensational – as good as Lara could have hoped. It was a great choice on her part.
Following the concert, Lara left the following picture and message on her Instagram site,
http://instagram.com/p/B7E2IrHobHl
and the comment, “Thank you Roubaix ... what a nice moment to share together ....

Then following this show, Lara left this picture on her Instagram site,
http://instagram.com/p/B7LOm8GCASf
with the heartfelt statement, “I wanted to thank you ... everyone ... for your words, your expressions of affection, your surprises, your flowers, your smiles ... and your faithful love quite simply ...

It will be shown (on France 2) on February 1.
Finally, to Chalons-en-Champagne (from which videos may become available). After that, Lara concluded those concerts again with a picture and comment on Instagram,

and her words, “Thank you Metz, thank you Chalons-en-Champagne ... I spent two wonderful evenings by your side ... Good week to everyone ... 🙏💕💋
# 50WorldTour”
The 'revelation' Lara released, in the midst of the tour, came once again on Instagram, with Lara showing a picture of herself with Moh Denebi, at
http://instagram.com/p/B7OFmHSiwnc
and writing (in English), “New music ... coming up ...
