Lara was back ‘home’ in Montreal this past week, with what seemed like mixed success. On the positive side, she was with her family; she left the following message on her FB site, “Back home, in my beautiful Quebec ... happy with all these moments shared during the beginning of the tour… thank you for coming to my meeting night after-night 🙏💕 ... what a great pleasure to live these moments of music by your side. .. 💞
I'm taking a little break to find my family ... before going back to the road very soon toward you for the rest of the # 50 worldtour
Love 💕💕💋

Her return home included her reuniting with Kayla, shown here
with the caption, “My beautiful Kayla ... peaceful ... A simple little happiness that I share with you with tenderness ...”
And Lara did get to go with Gabriel to the adisq awards evening, and she posted several beautiful pictures of them together,

On the negative side…Lara did not win ‘Female Singer of the Year’ or pop album of the year, with both of those awards going to ‘Coeur de pirate’. An article discussing the event and the winners appeared in the Montreal Gazette (https://montrealgazette.com/entertainment/music/adisq-gala-rewards-the-veterans-and-the-new-wave-sunday-night), copied below:

ADISQ Gala rewards the veterans and the new wave Sunday night
The winners at the ADISQ Gala Sunday night were a mix of older veterans and young members of the new wave.
Brendan Kelly, Montreal Gazette
Updated: October 27, 2019
Going in, there was a lot of talk of how this year’s ADISQ Gala, Quebec’s annual music-awards ceremony, was going to be all about the cool new wave. And there was no shortage of new-generation stars taking home hardware Sunday night at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier of Place des Arts, starting with Loud, Quebec’s reigning rap kingpin, who won as best male artist.
But there were also plenty of veterans taking top honours, including Ginette Reno, Michel Rivard and Coeur de pirate, the latter who has to be considered something of a vet at this point, 11 years into her career.
In other words, the gala, Quebec’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards or the Junos, provided a pretty good reflection of the eclectic range of music made chez nous.
Reno won Sunday night for best adult contemporary album for "À jamais", and she had already won a Félix trophy at an earlier gala last Wednesday for bestselling album of the year. The album, released in October 2018, has so far sold 95,000 physical copies, an extraordinary sales statistic in a music business dominated by streaming rather than physical sales.
“I really didn’t expect this success, especially given that my songs are almost not played at all on the radio any more,” said Reno, in an interview in the lobby of Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier shortly after she’d won the Félix for best adult-contemporary album. “It’s as if the old artists are pushed aside. … It still means a lot to win a trophy. It feels like it did the first time. … Today we don’t build great careers any more. It’s the same thing with actors and actresses. It’s no longer about building anything.”
There was a lot of talk on social media that it was a big step forward for the ADISQ Gala to have kicked off the top-rated Radio-Canada show with a medley featuring many of the province’s top hip-hop artists, including Loud, Sarahmée, Fouki, Souldia, and Koriass. But in an interview backstage, Maybe Watson from rap group Alaclair Ensemble said it was only natural that the hip-hop stars opened the gala.
“First of all it was dope,” said Watson. “Was it that big of thing? I don’t think so. It was great. But I don’t think it was that big of a statement. I think hip hop is here and it has a good foundation. People know who all these (artists) are already. They’re out there doing their thing and it’s only right that they get to open the show.”
Alaclair Ensemble’s inspired Le sens des paroles won the Félix statuette for rap album.
Coeur de pirate’s "En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé" won for pop album and Coeur de pirate also garnered the public-vote trophy as female artist of the year, one of the evening’s most prestigious awards.
“It was an album that was very important for me and what I learned was that the public was there ready to listen,” said Béatrice Martin aka Coeur de pirate, after accepting the prize for pop album. “I wrote songs that were more personal than ever before and people told me they recognized themselves in the songs.”
Roxane Bruneau’s "Des p’tits bouts de toi" won as song of the year.
Singer-songwriter Pierre Lapointe provided the most political speech of the night, blasting the politicians in the hall for not doing enough to ensure that musicians are properly paid for their work in this digital age.
“Nothing has been done, or almost nothing, by the different levels of government since the introduction of the Internet 20 years ago,” said Lapointe, who was one of the presenters Sunday night. “We’ve being robbed for years by the multinationals who don’t pay their taxes. There were a million streams for my song "Je déteste ma vie" and I made $500. I think my contribution of "Je déteste ma vie" merits more than that.”
Other winners included Florent Vollant as aboriginal artist; Alexandra Stréliski as writer/composer and as discovery; Bleu Jeans Bleu as best group; and Fred Pellerin’s Après as folk album.
Here are some of the winners from two galas held on Oct. 23:
Alternative album: La nuit est une panthère by Les Louanges
Anglophone album: Now by Jesse MacCormack
Album, other languages: The Ballad of the Runaway Girl by Elisapie
Critic’s choice album: La nuit est une panthère by Les Louanges
Quebec artist with the biggest success outside Quebec: Hubert Lenoir
Anglophone show: Deception Bay, Milk & Bone
Instrumental album: Inscape by Alexandra Stréliski
Jazz album: Stay Tuned! by Dominique Fils-Aimé
Electronic album: Make It Last Forever by Millimetrik
Rock album: Delivrance by Éric Lapointe
---------------------------------------
As a side note, Ginette Reno’s winning album was partially written by…Rick Allison.
Outside of awards related to actual sales, these are mostly popularity contests, and Lara had a big advantage being on ‘La Voix’, as exemplified by Eric Lapointe winning for ‘best rock album’. But one has to think that the news that Lara was no longer going to be on that show, but instead would be on “The Voice” in France may have influenced some voters - while Coeur du pirate is replacing her on La Voix. Too bad we didn’t get a chance to see what would have happened when Lara was still riding the wave of popularity associated with Geneviève Jodoin winning earlier this year.
Getting ‘back on the road’, there are some nice photos of Lara from Kiev, at

Here is their (google translated) set:
----------------------------------------------
1)Lara Fabian about beautiful aging, love and her main wealth in life
About love for your body and silk underwear
On stage, you are the embodiment of femininity and elegance. What style of clothing do you prefer in everyday life?
LF: I love jeans, boots, comfortable beautiful sweaters, scarves and silk underwear.
How do you manage to look at 30? What are your beauty secrets?
LF: “I don't use gluten, I'm allergic to it.” But this is even for the best. Also, do not eat dairy products, because they contribute to the development of infections in the respiratory system, which is extremely important for the artist. No drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. More kind and positive people are nearby. I came to the conclusion that if you think in a positive way and live with pleasure, then it lifts the mood and makes you smile more often. Here is the main secret of radiant skin and a great life hack to look at your life with enthusiasm.
Do you like your freckles? Many girls try to get rid of them.
LF: “I learned to love them.”
What is your relationship with the body? Did you have complexes or did you accept and accept yourself as you are?
LF: Is there anyone other than Victoria's Secret models who truly loves their body? Among my friends, I do not know a single woman who loves herself from head to toe. I am an exception. Over time, I became more confident and definitely decided to come to terms with the fact that I would never be different from who I am now. There are other things in life that I must cultivate and cherish.
They say that men love with their eyes. Inadmissible luxury for a modern woman to be groomed! What about the men themselves? In the song you sing that neither appearance, nor status, nor money of a man is important to you, as long as there is no spark of love in it. Is there any cunning in this, or do you really think so?
LF: In fact, what matters to me is not related to appearance or social status. But what is important to me is to be understood and have a conscious connection with a man. What is really important to me in a relationship is to go far beyond everything that can be shared with many people ... but enter into the secret of intimacy, where you can finally find someone who is half of your soul.
2) About marital passion against distance
“When I am in love, I am FINISHED and DEDICATED.”
You are often on the road, how do you manage to maintain romance in relations with your husband?
LF: “Sometimes distance fuels passion.” But I must admit, lately I really miss my husband. Since this tour is long and tiring, he will travel with me to some cities in order to stay close for a while.
You have a lot of concerts around the world. Probably sometimes you do not happen for a long time at home ...
LF: I'm so lucky, I just have a fantastic family that understands the reality of my life. They know that in these stressful times, I need support. My husband takes care of my daughter. They are my wealth, my stability, they are the most important people in my life. With them I feel very happy.
Can you call yourself a passionate person? Do you show this part of nature?
LF: For me, this is the only way to live, showing my colors, and indeed, passion is most of them.
Does your family have important traditions for you?
LF: Christmas is a very important holiday for us. On this day we get together at the table and share good stories. I am pleased to do this every year again and again.
Work takes a lot of strength and energy. How do you recover after long tours?
LF: In the arms of my family.
3) My daughter “Lou always inspires me”
If your daughter asked you to abandon the stage in favor of the family, what would you answer her?
LF: Thank God she will never ask me about this.
Your daughter Lou is 11 years old. What does she like? Maybe she sings, like her mother?
LF: She likes sports and cooking.
What is your relationship with her? Are you like girlfriends chatting about everything in the world?
LF: I am her mother and try to respect everything that she does. I am trying to give her some knowledge, share experience and direct her to the direction where she will feel safe.
What future do you want for your daughter?
LF: Complex issue. But, in fact, I want her to be joyful, happy, serene and healthy.
Now children are opening the modern world to parents. Do you have the same? Maybe Lou introduces you to new artists?
LF: And that is true. Sometimes I like to learn from her something that I did not even suspect. Lou always inspires me.
4) Lara Fabian "washes away makeup"
Do you have the duality of nature? Or is it a feature of your lyrical heroine from the song “Mademoiselle Hyde”?
LF: “There is a duality in me.” But only between a little girl and a woman. Most of the time I oscillate between these two energies. At these moments, the gift of dualism awakens in me. In my opinion, this is the only thing that women must develop in themselves in order to survive in the framework of the modern world, bearing all their responsibilities day after day.
It doesn't matter who you are: singer, songwriter, superstar, florist, doctor, or anyone else. The modern world is testing you to find out what price you are willing to pay for who you want to be.
LF: “To be honest, I'm tired of trying to be everything. I just want to be myself.”
Do you have moments when you want to hide behind the “make-up” and try on other emotions before going on stage or during the filming of a clip / broadcast? Can an artist afford to be sad? How to stay real, but not let others penetrate too deeply into the soul?
LF: This is a voluminous question requiring a detailed answer. From time to time, I decide not to come up with sublime speeches, and this frees my mind and heart. It took me years to come to the point that it does not matter to me if people see me as I am. Now I can afford it, and it's great.
There are not many ways to be real ... you just need to be who you are. Accept your imperfections, be kind to the various aspects of your personality, and nourish your joy.
Can an artist afford to be sad? Yes, he can, but he must measure the consequences. I used to express it in music.
As for the penetration into the soul of other people ... I carefully choose those with whom to communicate.
What does faith mean to you?
LF: Faith is definitely something that has taken root in many things in my life, from education and culture to my deep conviction that there is something beyond our recognition, beyond the visible.
5) “I am proud of my acquaintance with Ukraine”
You have already been to Ukraine more than once. What did you like most in our country?
LF: I really love Ukraine, I am proud of my acquaintance with it. Every time I feel kindness and warmth when I come to Kiev. It is a wonderful city.
Will there be free time to walk around Kiev?
LF: Unfortunately, I will have very little time. This tour is like a long tunnel from one hotel to another, from airport to airport ... I will enjoy the warmth of the audience and the kindness of their fantastic hearts, which I have been warming for the last decade.
Have you listened to Ukrainian performers?
LF: I had the opportunity to meet several of your great artists.
6) New show and backstage secrets of Lara Fabian
Are your songs born in moments of despair and longing, or when you are happy and full of love?
LF: Not all songs are written under the same circumstances. The reality is: when you have a moment of despair or when you experience severe pain, the way to get rid of it is music. In difficult times, music is written easier. I must say that this often happened in my life. On the other hand, I can also recall moments when music poured from my happy heart with the same intensity and passion. Yes, I experienced both conditions.
Is the new show different from the previous ones?
LF: The concept of this world tour is to look at the years of my career and celebrate the 50th anniversary. In essence, the narrative will be much more than ever. There will be songs that help me reunite with the audience. I will do everything so that they feel all the important moments for me along with me.
A world tour is dedicated to your 50th anniversary and 25th anniversary of creative activity. What do these two numbers mean to you?
LF: “These are really just numbers.” I think that considering your age as a threat is not the healthiest thing if you want to age beautifully.
Do you have any special ritual before going on stage? How do you tune in to a meeting with the public?
LF: I have a classic vocal chant, I use it every day. I also try to sleep well.
At your concerts, people often cry and say that you pierce your voice to the depths of your soul. How do you manage to hold back your tears?
LF: Oh, believe me, I'm crying, I just hide it very well.
------------------------------------
And as we saw, Lara does not always hide it very well…more power to her.
In other news, Lara posted the following on her Instagram site: Just before surprising @simonboulerice on the show En direct de l'univers!
Thanks to my beautiful team, Marco, Dennis, junior and daphnée!
Lara went on the show to sing the Jacques Brel song “Voir un ami pleurer”. One can hear a bit of it at:
www.facebook.com/endirectdelunivers/videos/514249272488855/
The caption that goes along with it says, “Thanks to Lara Fabian, the idol of Simon Boulerice's youth, for coming to perform a song that he is very fond of.
To review the complete performance, go to ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/en-direct-de-l-univers/site/segments/prestation/139699/lara-fabian-simon-boulerice-jacques-brel?fbclid=IwAR3lMIjb9olDOIWzhe4kJoluTIqfqJLO2aMxk4qFfMfNdIfXqe6k--g1SAk
which is only available to people in Canada…hopefully it will make it to youtube, as Lara always sings that song perfectly.
Lara was in a beautiful photoshoot for ‘192 Magazine’ by “Bijouterie Italienne”, as she seems to be getting more and more jewelry-modeling gigs. A beautiful short feature on this can be seen at:

All of this is somewhat ironic, for we know after watching Lara for all these years, both on-stage and off, that one of the last things one would associate with her is jewelry. But she certainly does look fetching…

As Lara implied, she is home for just this short period of time, though it doesn’t appear as if she will be resuming her 50 World Tour as quickly as she said. We know she has a non-tour event at Igor Krutoi’s birthday party later this week, and hopefully there will be some nice videos from there, although we know that even if Lara is singing, it won’t truly be ‘live’.
Following that, the concert in Budapest, originally scheduled for November 5th, has been moved to May 28th in 2020 (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=x02Mr4ztzEk), and the one in Belgrade, scheduled for November 16th, is now on May 10th (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a6KpLqvL1M). Almost certainly this is to clear her schedule for “The Voice – la plus belle” in France which is likely holding the ‘blind auditions’ on those dates. That will presumably take Lara somewhat ‘off-grid’ for the next few weeks, while she gets a chance to see how different the French version of those ‘red chairs’ feel. Hopefully she’ll enjoy it.

And as we saw, Lara does not always hide it very well…more power to her.
In other news, Lara posted the following on her Instagram site: Just before surprising @simonboulerice on the show En direct de l'univers!
Thanks to my beautiful team, Marco, Dennis, junior and daphnée!
http://instagram.com/p/B4Hy-eMCEyn
Lara went on the show to sing the Jacques Brel song “Voir un ami pleurer”. One can hear a bit of it at:
www.facebook.com/endirectdelunivers/videos/514249272488855/
The caption that goes along with it says, “Thanks to Lara Fabian, the idol of Simon Boulerice's youth, for coming to perform a song that he is very fond of.

which is only available to people in Canada…hopefully it will make it to youtube, as Lara always sings that song perfectly.
