The big news this past week, and probably even this month, was the release of the absolutely beautiful cover of Lara’s next album ‘Papillon’. It can be seen, from Lara’s FB site (and on her Instagram site) at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359/2412855788755904/?type=3&theater
Lara has finally decided to let her body fully light up her record cover, looking both beautiful and sexy. Compare this with, for example, the cover of ‘Camouflage’
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Lara-Fabian-Camouflage-2017.jpg
where Lara went for ‘sexy and unusual’;
or ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ where she went for ‘high tech’; remember the augmented reality aspect used here, which included butterflies?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ma_vie_dans_la_tienne#/media/File:Lara-Fabian-Ma-vie-dans-la-tienne-Deluxe-Edition.jpg
For ‘Toutes les femmes en moi” she looked pretty and pleasant:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toutes_les_femmes_en_moi#/media/File:Toutes_Les_Femmes_En_Moi_Official_Cover.jpg
IMHO, the best she has looked prior to this was the head shot cover for “A Wonderful Life”,
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wonderful_Life_(album)#/media/File:A_Wonderful_Life_album_cover.jpg
A lot of good that did it! If you have other opinions, please feel free to state them!
At the moment this is being written, there are 379 comments on Lara’s FB page about the album cover, and while I can’t say I’ve read them all, the ones I have seen hve been highly positive (comments such as beautiful, sublime, magnificent, etc.).
The accompanying caption indicates that “preorders will begin on November 30, with the possibility of downloading the first single ("Papillon") [‘Butterfly’], as well as the second extract, "JE SUIS A TOI" [‘I Am Yours’]. As suspected, the rumors about the name of the first single, and even the month of its release have proven true.
The release also lists the following:
Photo: Geneviève Charbonneau
Graphics: Éric Soulier
Copyright: 9 Productions
As expected, the photo and design are Montreal professionals; Lara has made a big point of mentioning that the album was recorded and produced entirely in Quebec (though we know from her manager that it was actually mastered in London ). However, it is still from Lara’s own Production company, and all the big record companies presumably associated with this release (Warner France; Musicor) will presumably act as distributors. Prior to this week, rumor had it that this was a ‘Warner France’ production, while Musicor indicates up front that they are the producers for artists including Lara (https://www.quebecor.com/en/our-activities/music); and producers generally own the copyright (in fact 2 copyrights, “one for sound recording and the other for underlying musical composition or song” (https://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2014/12/basic-legal-tips-for-record-producers-draft.html). We know that after her experience with Sony, Lara seemed determine never to let the copyright for her songs slip out of her hands, and so it would appear that tradition continues.
A few articles about the release are popping up (although at the time of this writing, none have appeared in France); here, for example is one from the Czech Republic (http://musicserver.cz/clanek/59883/lara-fabian-vyda-v-unoru-nove-album-papillon/?fbclid=IwAR0I3mOb7sJn5rbU2Vr4CJHLtw9unDfW0HiCJ4NHLmPdhiXS48s921fQCHs) (google translated):

Lara Fabian releases new album "Papillon"
Released: 26.11.2018 08:46 in News section - Jana Kloučková
Lara Fabian will be releasing new material at the beginning of next year. The upcoming album will be called "Papillon" and will be following the English-sung "Camouflage" album, which the Belgian singer presented twice in Prague.
The recording of "Papillon" will be released on February 8th and, as the title suggests, it is possible to hear French-sung songs again. For the time being, the artist has released two tastings - the title song and the song "Je suis a toi".
The rest of the tracklist of upcoming releases has not yet been released. The successful "Papillon" pilot single is available from early October with an accompanying video, which you can see below.

And, then again, in the same vein (http://www.envedette.ca/stars/musique/lara-fabian-devoile-sublime-pochette-de-son-album-1.8576796?fbclid=IwAR2tsedNcwUozFxnGxQZvmkozsrqg-4BCPApRdMMONGMwTpUGwzZ-UiAwBk):

LARA FABIAN UNVEILS THE SUBLIME COVER OF HER NEW ALBUM!
Fabulous Lara Fabian will release her new album on February 8, 2019!
She who will take up her famous red armchair at La Voix next winter has unveiled the sublime cover of "Papillon" on social networks. She is magnificent!
"Papillon", the first part of Lara Fabian's new opus, is already a success. In a statement, the famous singer explained: "This song represents for me the celebration of joy and lightness of soul and heart. If we spent 24 hours in the life of a butterfly, what vision would we change from ours? I think we would certainly be aware of the grace that lives in us and our ability to fly higher ..."
If you have not yet seen the beautiful music video for the pop piece, here it is again:

Both articles then provide the youtube link for the video,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzWit_mevK0
which, as one can see, currently has more than 873,000 views. There is some desire for this video to get more than 1 million views before the next single comes out, so if you have an interest in helping with that, go to it!
Speaking of releases, and pictures, there’s a nice picture of Lara with the characters from the movie “La Course des Tuques” that can be found at:

Lara’s people are passing around information that there’s a “false concert” being advertised for Kamchatka, Russia for December 2nd. Be aware…
There is an amazing re-orchestrated version of Lara’s duet of “Requiem pour un fou” with Johnny Hallyday from the Stade de France in 1988. It can be heard at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlr2TWh3XI4
This is an official production as it was provided to youtube by Universal on the 20th anniversary of this performance.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: from the Lara Fabian America site, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianamerica/photos/a.353726431791949/510812282750029/?type=3&theater
On Friday we’ll get to hear the second single from Papillon, ‘Je suis a toi’. It will give us an additional data point concerning the album, although we’re already expecting it to be electro-pop in general style. There’s been no mention of any corresponding video, unlike the situation with the first single, ‘Papillon’, so one would guess there will not be one. We’ll see… Furthermore, starting Friday one can pre-order the album. There may well be publicity concerning the album cover release showing up in France; if so, we'll see what their impression is. One would guess it, too, will be extremely positive.

November 25 was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and the Lara Fabian Greece site provided a link to the video of “Llora” from the Mademoiselle Zhivago project, seen at:
www.facebook.com/larafabiangreece/videos/816185825173179/
Here is the quote they included: “The aim of the day is to raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to many forms of violence which is a grave violation of human rights.
Many women suffer in silence under the abuses of men who don't know how to love. As the powerful last line of "Llora" says, those cannot be real men at all.
While many modern societies, as a whole, do not support this practice, the same doesn't apply to all individual households, nor to all the societies in the world.
The impact of violence ranges from immediate to long-term multiple physical and mental consequences for women, including death. Violence affects women’s general well-being and prevents them from fully participating in society. It has negative consequences not only for women but also for their families, the community and the country. Love is being damaged. This must end.”
