Surprisingly, the lead story this past week was not associated with the new English album or tour. It was about Lara singing a song for a new movie, called ‘Cello’, as one can see by this picture from their site (https://www.facebook.com/cellomovie/)
scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/18198221_658244647692958_7325315817348627323_n.jpg?oh=30b05f6222c4fcbf9845237dbca3f0e2&oe=5981A86F
There are also many pictures associated with that recording at the following link, including some with Lara (and some of those are also shown individually, below):
www.facebook.com/cellomovie/photos/ms.c.eJxFj8ENAzAIAzeqCGAn7L9YVYjT5~_kAG~_J4JnOzvHA~_bMZZ5vT6c3vmZfqwXd7IQHHJH7YPPt~_cW77Gx~_WafL95MOt8aL~;YrDzY9FEe1syn5pndxyE~;~;4Tu~_~_p9W~_rH6R~;y8WOQ7~;~;2ofmDvrcfT79tXy~_FRJE~-.bps.a.658244511026305.1073741831.564121157105308/658244647692958/?type=3&theater
The film is described on the ‘Cello’ website as: “A little short film with big talent. We are so grateful to be able to return to the #BarbaraStreisandScoringStage to record the end title song "Remember Me" written by Randy Kerber and Glen Ballard, vocals by Lara Fabian, solo Cello by Lynn Harrell, conductor William Ross, Executive Producer Helen Nightengale and Director Angie Su”.
In fact, it turns out, at least according to the movie maker, that this was the reason Lara was in Los Angeles in the first place, as they wrote, “Lara Fabian flew all the way to Los Angeles just for us!!! We caught her behind the scenes prepping for our big day of recording Cello The Movie's end title song "Remember Me" at Sony Pictures”. [Of course, that doesn’t explain what she was doing in Texas first – maybe it really was a vacation, or maybe it was album-sound related].
The behind the scenes video they’re referring to can be seen at
www.facebook.com/cellomovie/videos/658230337694389/
and the music in the background may well be that for “Remember Me”.
The trailer for the movie can be seen at,

As indicated, it is about an older man (a grandfather, it appears) who after a career as a cellist is afflicted with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), and is considering assisted suicide rather than put himself and his family through this always fatal degenerative condition.
Lara provided several posts concerning this, first showing her in the recording process,
www.facebook.com/cellomovie/photos/a.567591846758239.1073741828.564121157105308/658669650983791/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “So proud to be part of this beautiful project.” And then a follow-up,

with the caption, “Recording ‘Remember me’, the title song for ‘Cello’”.
There were numerous other pictures of this event, on the ‘Sony Pictures Scoring Stage’ FB site (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sony-Pictures-Scoring-Stage/173484309344598?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE), including two wonderful photos with Armen Ksajikian

Angie Su, Helen Nightengale, Lynn Harrell, William Ross, Lara Fabian, Randy Kerber and Glen Ballard
On these various sites, Lara and the cellist Lynn Harrell got the most publicity. e.g., for Lara,
www.facebook.com/cellomovie/photos/a.567591846758239.1073741828.564121157105308/658160834368006/?type=3&theater
Finally, if you want to help provide financial support for this movie – apparently, they say they need it – go to www.cellomovie.com/giving/
Speaking of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI), while in L.A., Lara provided a picture of herself with John Williams (composer of the song “For Always” which Lara sang associated with that movie), at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1546482785393213/?type=3&theater
You may know the story that Stanley Kubrick was the original developer of AI. After much delay, he turned it over to Stephen Spielberg, who finished it after Kubrick’s death. Kubrick never liked to have music sung during his films, and Spielberg, in honor of him, remained true to that sentiment, so the song ‘For Always’ was not officially in the film, but it was on the film’s soundtrack. For example, from (http://www.jwfan.com/?p=3196):
--------------------------------------------------
“For Always:
Poet Cynthia Weil wrote lyrics to Williams’ Monica’s theme and two different versions of the song were recorded, one with Lara Fabian and the other with Josh Groban and Lara Fabian singing a duet. Neither version of the song appears in the film but were created just for the soundtrack album.”
--------------------------------------------------
It was said that had it appeared in the film, it likely would have won an Oscar for best song – and Lara would have benefited from the exposure. [Just one more example of the bad luck Lara has had in her English language career]. It might also have led Lara to sing the song in her concerts – it’s not apparent that she has ever sung the song in public outside of one PBS TV appearance with Josh Groban (and John Williams), available at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=exK6P-N8sB4
Note that video has close to 1.9 million views, and there are many others using Lara’s or the duet version on youtube that total several hundred thousand more. There is little doubt that were she to include this in her ‘International tour’ it would get a great reception.
So, as apparent from the above, the ‘full orchestra’ Lara was described as recording with on the Sony Soundstage was actually not for the new album, after all. Too bad. Nevertheless, the first ‘pre-listening’ session of it took place in Los Angeles, and what little commentary there was about it was positive (non-disclosure agreements having been signed undoubtedly prevented more comment). It is a small sample size, which includes Lara, who has said she’s “excited about it”. We’ll find out, presumably sooner rather than later, where the next such session is to be held.
Lara’s world tour was announced to the French music world this past week, with several articles, first, one in ‘Charts in France’
(http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-104194.html). Here’s the translation:

Lara Fabian intends to make her voice heard throughout the world in the coming months. In effect, after "Lara Fabian" in 1999, with "Adagio" and "I Will Love Again" then "A Wonderful Life", the Belgian singer is currently working on her new album in English. "12 songs recorded. The next step: finalize arrangements and live recording sessions with additional musicians. I love my new songs and I hope you will love them too”, announced the cult performer of" Tout ", which celebrates its 20 years in 2017. “I look forward to present my new album in English , which will be released this year. The first for more than 10 years! " added Lara Fabian, obviously very enthusiastic about the idea of returning to the conquest of the international public.
A concert in Paris in June 2018
While she is also recording the title "Remember Me" for the film "Cello", the artist has just announced her big comeback on stage for 2018. Unveiling a poster where her face appears in the form of colorful triangles, which will not be the cover of the album according to her team, Lara Fabian revealed the first thirty dates of her new world tour, the "Camouflage World Tour". A tour of singing to support her next songs in English which will start on February 3 in Miami, before going through New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, Berlin, Milan, London, Barcelona or Paris on June 16, 2018. The rooms that will welcome Lara Fabian will soon be revealed, at the same time as the opening of the ticket office. Still a little patience...

Nothing really new here, compared to the information on Lara’s FB site, except for the (erroneous) inclusion of London as having been specified in the article (although most likely it will be part of the tour).
Then there was an article at (http://www.influencelesite.com/2017/05/lara-fabian-annonce-un-album-et-une-tournee-mondiale.html) [thanks to the 'Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site for the link]. Here’s its translation:

Lara Fabian announces an album and a world tour
Lara Fabian is going to release an album in English, ‘Camouflage’, 13 years after her last opus in the language of Shakespeare.
If the singer is eager to have discovered her 12 new songs, she is also delighted to go on a world tour with her new opus under her arm. A tour that will take place in Europe, USA, Russia and Quebec.
The Camouflage World Tour will be launched in 2018. Lara will perform in Paris on June 16, 2018 but where? Mystery room has not yet been unveiled for that date.
The album is produced by the team of Mans Zelmerlöw, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden in 2015.
--------------------------------------------------
The producer’s name was some new information. It is consistent with the writers working with Lara on the English album, Sharon Vaughn and Moh Denebi, who are based in Sweden. You may remember that the first English album was done largely in the States, while the second was in England.
And then there was an article linked to by the Lara Fabian - PHQ site (https://www.facebook.com/larafabianphq/photos/a.353954938084519.1073741828.353946178085395/1129537440526261/?type=3&theater), translated below:

A World Tour in 2018 for Lara Fabian
After the success of ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ which appeared in 2015 and sold close to 100,000 copes, and before the release of her new album in English programmed for this year, Lara Fabian has unveiled the next 30 dates of her future tour. And surprise, it is a world tour that she announced for 2018 via her Facebook profile.
The ‘Camouflage World Tour will begin in the United States February 3rd. Five dates are actually predicted for the American continent, but none in Quebec, at least for the moment, to the great disappointment of her Canadian fans. That they be reassured, the planning is far from definitive, indicates the Team of the singer. But they must be patient since it will be for the month of June [2018].
Europe is better off with 24 dates. The direction to the East commences with concerts in Minsk, Moscow, St. Petersbourg and Kiev. The singer of ‘Je t’aime’ always does really well in the region.
Brussels is evidently not forgotten. Lara Fabian will meet there with her admirers June 9th. The question is to know where because there is no room indicated for the moment. Useless to run to buy tickets, they will be put on sale later, perhaps one should read on the Facebook profile of the singer. It is the same thing for the other dates near us: May 19th in Amsterdam and June 16th in Paris.
Camouflage will be the first original album in English proposed by Lara Fabian since ‘A Wonderful Life’ released in 2004. It will contain 12 titles recorded in part in Sweden with the team of Mans Zelmerlow, the Swedish victor of Eurovision 2015. The singer is actually in Los Angeles where she finalizes the recordings in good company. Notably John Williams, celebrated for his film music, which includes ‘Star Wars’. CVD
---------------------------------------------------
This article suggests that Lara is in L.A. to finalize the new album, whereas the other news indicates that she came for the movie. “Killing two birds with one stone” is not unlikely here.
Meanwhile, nothing more has been added concerning the tour, and it has not yet been included in the ‘Events’ section of Lara’s FB page. Also, the ‘larafabian.com’ URL that most probably is being prepared to focus on the new album, is still ‘under construction’; hard to know whether the fact that it is being managed by a Swiss company (as it says) has any particular significance.
In other news, the MZII FB site provided a link to a purepeople article about the ‘New Star’ program on M6 (http://www.purepeople.com/article/nouvelle-star-sur-m6-benjamin-biolay-pascal-negre-et-lara-fabian-jures_a233959/1); here’s the translation:
--------------------------------------------
New Star on M6: Benjamin Biolay, Pascal Nègre and Lara Fabian jurors?
Things are getting clearer for the return of the TV talent show ...
A return of the flagship TV talent show Nouvelle Star gets clearer on M6.
If we were to think at first that the show would return with its most emblematic jury (Marianne James, Dove Attia, Manu Katché, André Manoukian), things seem to appear little by little in a completely different manner.
Indeed, as announced by our colleagues of Télé Star this 5th of May, the singer Benjamin Biolay (44 years old) would have already signed his contract to appear on the jury of the program.
But that's not all, according to our information, the former president and director of Universal Music Pascal Nègre would also be part and artists such as Lara Fabian or Nolwenn Leroy would be in advanced negotiations. However, the recent announcement of the latter's pregnancy could reverse the cards ...
As a reminder, Nouvelle Star was broadcast on M6 from 2003 to 2010 before joining C8 from 2012 to 2016.
--------------------------------------------------
Given Lara’s apparent availability for most of the rest of 2017, there wouldn’t appear to be anything standing in her way from appearing on such a show in that time frame, and she does enjoy dealing with young talented artists. However, there have been many such ‘press-reported opportunities’ in the past (the latest being ‘The Voice’) where Lara ends up not being chosen, or her name was just being thrown around, and this rumor may well fall into the same category. Also, one wonders if she would agree to be on a panel with Pascal Negre (or he with her); their relationship at Universal Music did not exactly end on a positive note.
Interesting photo(s) of the week [not related to Lara and the movie]: from the 'Lara Fabian Greece' FB site,
www.facebook.com/larafabiangreece/photos/a.443804005744698.1073741828.443548625770236/690941564364273/?type=3&theater
and, in perhaps the completely opposite mood, from the 'Lara Fabian Voice of Passion' site
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianTheVoiceOfPassion/photos/a.722339551114856.1073741831.720473304634814/1802327573116043/?type=3&theater
If in fact Lara really was in L.A. only for the movie, and her part is now finished, one might expect her to return home, or at least go some place else. Of course, since we have previously been shown pictures of the studio in L.A. where work on the album was taking place, that may be her continuing locale. In any event, we’ll see if Lara and her team have any other surprises in store for us – the last two weeks have certainly had a welcome surplus of them!

Interesting photo(s) of the week [not related to Lara and the movie]: from the 'Lara Fabian Greece' FB site,

and, in perhaps the completely opposite mood, from the 'Lara Fabian Voice of Passion' site
