Lara had no official public appearances on her schedule this past week, but that doesn’t mean she was sitting at home. Lara was in Dubai for another ‘private’ concert. There is some video of her performing (portions of) "Caruso", "Je suis malade" and "Je t’aime" there, available (thanks to the MZ FB site for the link) at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2mTcsOfJKo
and also of "Immortelle" (thanks to the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site for the link), at
Several pictures of Lara there can be found at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianfromMexico/photos/pcb.1287198524667538/1287197664667624/?type=3&theater
As was pointed out on the MZ FB site, there was a great disparity between the energy displayed in the promo at the start of the video and what the subsequent performance actually entailed, but Lara seemed in good voice. And that was certainly an interesting outfit she was wearing. It can be seen even more clearly in this picture with Lara’s hairdresser and makeup artist (again thanks to the MZ FB site) at
It’s understandable that Lara’s FB site does not announce her private appearances, although if they did so, fans might be able to come greet her in these countries, some of which she won't visit in the near future. Maybe that’s specifically what Lara’s people do not want, but why not? It would be a nice and useful gesture, and she appears to have the time with the new album well on its way. In this day and age, the info gets out anyway, so they might consider revealing it at least in retrospect, in the spirit of keeping her fans updated on her professional activities (which, in a way, this is).
‘Charts in France’ gave public notice to the French audience that Lara is releasing an English language album (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-103957.html#fO2F9qmFFLFfdJk2.01). Here’s the translation:
----------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian will release a new album in English this year
A year and a half after the release of "Ma vie dans la tienne", Lara Fabian already has a new project: the release of her next album in English by the end of 2017. "The first for more than 10 years", she confided, delighted with her new songs.
Since the release of her single "Tout", Lara Fabian has forged a privileged link with the French public. Since then, the singer has won many successes, like with "Je t'aime", "La différence", "Immortelle", "Tu es mon autre" or "La lettre". In 2015 it is with her album “Ma vie dans la tienne” that the Belgian artist succeeded in her return by seducing more than 80,000 faithful thanks to the singles “Quand je ne chante pas” and “L’oubli”. "Now, at 47 years old, Lara Fabian wants to launch a new challenge: to reconquer her English language fans. "After the dance song I Will Love Again , which was a kind of very record house wish, of entering through the door by kicking, there was a real inconsistency between the artist I fundamentally am, "she said three years ago to explain the failure of her American career.
"I love my new songs"
Because everything was good for Lara Fabian who had released the album in English "Lara Fabian" in 1999, containing the tracks "Adagio" and "I Will Love Again" (32nd of the Billboard Hot 100), before reiterating with "A Wonderful Life ", supported by the single "No Big Deal". In the greatest secrecy, the performer of "Je t'aime encore" returned to the studio to record a new album recorded in the language of Shakespeare. "I look forward to presenting my new album in English, which will be released this year. The first for more than 10 years!" confided Lara Fabian at the site ‘Ici Londres’, on the occasion of her first concert in the English capital. On her Facebook account, the artist wanted to unveil a little more.
"12 songs recorded. The next step: finalize the arrangements and live recording sessions with additional musicians. I love my new songs and I hope you will like them too "posted Lara Fabian in the legend of a photo showing her back , in front of a wall of guitars.
----------------------------------------------------------
It wasn’t actually in secret that Lara recorded the new album – she has been talking about it on her FB site for almost a year now – but it is true she hasn’t gone out of her way to discuss it with the French public (or, outside of her FB page, the English public either). It's not clear that they actually interviewed her, so their comment that the release would be by the end of the year may not be a real target deadline. If it were, one supposes that would probably delay the start of the concert tour, which Lara recently indicated would start in late September.
In between now and the time of any English album-related appearances, we should probably expect Lara to be involved in a variety of ‘one-off’ activities. For example, the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site carried the link to this report (http://www.inform.kz/en/dimash-kudaibergenov-and-lara-fabian-to-sing-at-astana-arena_a3012841).
--------------------------------------------------
ASTANA. KAZAKHSTAN- Dimash Kudaibergenov and Lara Fabian will sing together at his solo concert at the Astana Arena in June, Askhat Mayemirov, President of Kazakh Auyenderi JSC, said at a press conference. "It was Ms Fabian's idea. She reportedly asked her manager to contact Dimash because she wanted to meet him. Dimash, his father and his manager went to Paris where the Kazakh crooner met with Lara. She agreed to sing at his concert. The rehearsals will tentatively take place on June 25-26 and they will perform on June 27," Mr. Mayemirov added. In his words, the singers are likely to sing Adagio, Daididau and other songs. He added that Dimash will sing 60% of the songs at the concert. Earlier Minister of Culture and Sport Arytanbek Mukhamediuly revealed the Dimash Kudaibergenov's solo [NOT REALLY] concert will be held at the Astana Arena on June 27 within the framework of the International specialized exhibition EXPO 2017.

The story is repeated again, with slightly different words, at

You may remember the wonderful version of Adagio he performed, covered in the News Update of 2/28 with video available at www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOYHNVzE0qw. A video about this coming joint concert can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytbk_nwxc3w
Outside of the opening announcement it is primarily Lara’s version of Adagio performed for the PBS show ‘From Lara with Love’. Hopefully they won’t expect Lara to sing quite like that…
In the notes accompanying it is the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------
In the big show of Dimash Kudaibergen in Astana, the participation of Lara Fabian was reported by the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Tengrinews.kz reports.
The concert "Dimash Kudaibergen Invites" is scheduled for June 27 on the stage "Astana Arena".
"We are now conducting intensive negotiations, there is already an agreement with Lara Fabian.
According to the organizers of the concert, it is already known that Dimash Kudaibergen will sing the song "Adagio" with Fabian, it is also possible to perform the song "Daididu".
According to him, tickets will arrive in mid-April. Dimash Kudaibergen - "is a big patriot of the country and does not plan to earn much on the performances ", - has noted Mukhambediuly.
Let's remind, young Kazakhstan singer Dimash Kudaibergen became widely known during participation in the Chinese song competition "I am singer". On March 27, it became known that Dimash won the Top Chinese Music Awards in China in the nomination "The Most Popular Singer in Asia".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Should be an interesting event!
Meanwhile, Lara’s FB site has been presenting a few items of varying degree of seriousness. In one, Lara noted that “Giancario Vizzini has created these magnificent shoes for his MAIMAI brand, inspired by a conversation we had about ‘butterflies’ during an evening in Belgium. He and I are delighted to offer a pair of these magnificent ‘Butterfly’ sneakers to the first person who will correctly respond to this mini-quiz…” . There were then five questions asked, the most difficult being the last one, “What is the biggest French city outside of Paris? It turned out the trick answer was Kinshasa (in the Republic of the Congo); nevertheless, most people got all five answers, and a winner (the quickest) was announced. A picture of these sneakers can be found at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/pcb.1496764630365029/1496745447033614/?type=3
And then, almost in the vein of ‘from the ridiculous to the sublime’, the following was posted (in translation):

We cannot remain indifferent before this crisis that affects more than 20 million people in Yemen, Nigeria, South Sudan, Central African Republic and Somalia. As noted in a previous Update, Lara’s URL (www.larafabian.com) is currently being redone. The ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site had the following comment: “The official website of Lara Fabian is currently under construction. Soon you will be able to find pictures, information concerning her new album in English, the dates of the world tour...”
If true, that would be quite useful – but let’s hope that ‘s not all it will be used for. It would be unfortunate if Lara and her Team decided to employ the URL only in support of whatever is the current album; you may remember that basically the only thing on it previously was material related to ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’. We’ve noted before that this is a very limited usage of the general URL, more so than is true for just about any other performer, in that it would not be offering for sale (or provide information about) any of Lara’s past work. That still doesn’t seem to make much commercial sense. We’ll have to wait and see, perhaps the new album will be emphasized but more will be included.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: from the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site, Lara with (according to Rozenn Roz) a Belgian football player, from March 28th with the (translated) caption, “A good sunny day to all”.

Still no concerts listed on Lara’s ‘events’ schedule that would require her to use those ‘papillon’ sneakers . When Lara is well, as she appears to be, she always seems to have a lot of energy, so we should probably expect her to pop up here or there (and ‘there’ could be anywhere in the world, apparently). In the meantime, Lara’s Team, and the fan sites, will have to try to create the illusion of motion. We’ll see how successful we are.
