Lara’s duet with Tony Carreira was still in the news this past week. The ‘Lara Fabian Italy’ site put a video of Lara’s working with him in the studio recording “Je t’aime”, on ‘Daily Motion’, available at:
www.dailymotion.com/video/x5abpm3_lara-fabian-e-tony-carreira-in-studio_music
and Lara’s FB site itself posted a link to it (obtained via the ‘Lara Fabian Web’ site). [This round about approach was made necessary because once again Vevo made the youtube version, www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ro2GkSQ9WU, unavailable in many countries].
Subsequently Tony Carreira himself put an abbreviated version of this on youtube, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs80Uo8caK4
The ‘behind the scenes’ video nicely captured their voices, especially Lara’s ability to excel in duets. The new video clip of the song, that was also filmed, has not yet been released, although Lara wrote that it would be ‘very soon’.
It turns out that Tony Carreira was performing live at a showcase in Paris last Wednesday. His performance can be seen at:
A number of singers joined him: Michel Fugain , Julie Zenatti , Daniel Guichard and Mickaël Dos Santos. It is interesting that Lara did not…[Thanks to the LFIAG Select site for the link].
Lara and her Team were busy working to maintain interest on Lara’s FB site by:
1) Releasing the link to the remix of the song ‘Every Woman In Me’ done by Dave Aude some years ago, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=248e5r9WWDA
The fan-made visuals are quite well done, showing pictures of the various women whose songs Lara covered on her album of the same name, as an homage to them.
One of the reasons for this emphasis might be an attempt to ‘prime the pump’ for the coming English album by referring to the professionally-remixed song from that last English release. What would also be nice is if they would make a greater effort to market it, perhaps in conjunction with the upcoming one.
2) Along with that link, Lara also explicitly included a portion of the lyrics from ‘Every Woman In Me”
"Every woman has a thousand souls
Coming from so far that
When on this small earth she's on her own
She knows she's never alone"
This sentiment of ‘connectivity’ is also evident in another video Lara linked to, at:
www.facebook.com/tv2.danmark/videos/601352856726322/
including the caption, “There is no "them".. there is only "Us"”. The desire to emphasize the commonalities among beings, which the video depicts, would seem to be especially important in this day and age, when some politicians and events seem to be trying to drive people apart. The video highlights that native inhabitants of Denmark, and immigrants to that country, have many overlapping beliefs, emotions, and circumstances in their lives. As it says, “There’s more that brings us together than we think”.
3) Lara also emphasized the domestic side of her existence, which probably is somewhat predominant given what appears to be her ‘free time’ before her concert in London in March. This included a link to a gluten-free recipe for crêpes, using chestnut flour and cornstarch. It’s available (in French) at:
loftkitchen.lesoir.be/crepes-sans-gluten-sauce-suzette/
Note that it takes a few hours to make, and the level of difficulty is ‘medium’. But it looks tasty in the picture!
One might also include in this 'domestic' category a nice picture Lara posted of herself with Gabriel (shown here, but which would otherwise definitely be one of the ‘interesting photos’ of the week!). It’s available at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1432520373456122/?type=3&theater
Her accompanying caption, “Thinking of you…eyes closed” (in English) could also qualify as an appeal to English language fans.
Given that Lara indicates she has some free time, one wonders, why was it necessary to cancel the February concerts in Poland? Had she anticipated that it would be an English concert, and now the new English songs are not yet ready? [Hopefully some of them will be by March, for London]. If that is the case, perhaps she then had no desire to resurrect the ‘Ma vie dans la tienne -The Concert’ show, when it was finished with such fanfare in December; and another round of ‘The Best of’ may have been deemed unacceptable.
However, no such uncertainty is evident for later this year. Lara seemingly has scheduled a new 2017 concert, this one in Caiova, Romaina, for October 3rd, as indicated at
www.facebook.com/premiumbooking/photos/a.652514211427050.1073741832.652029918142146/1419918794686584/?type=3&theater
Along with this ticket announcement comes the following (translated) text:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian will crown the Romanian spectators with her new artistic production on October 3, at the hall in Craiova. Starting at 19:45. PM with her band members, Lara Fabian will delight the fans, for two hours. Unmatched interpretations, full of tenderness and emotion and power - romantic ballads, successful pop and musical surprises in premiere, new songs, drawn from her new album..
The Promoter, booking Lara Fabian for Craiova, reminds all people concerned that tickets purchased for the concert originally announced for December of last year, should keep their cancelled ticket and they require renewal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s also a contest they are running, which includes a 5 Star trip to Belgium. Tickets will be available starting February 10th.
Announcement of this event has not yet made its way to Lara’s ‘events’ page on her FB site, but given the availability of tickets this week, there’s little doubt that it is officially scheduled. As the announcement notes, it is a ‘make-up’ for the concert she cancelled there in December. That of course would have been in French; this concert is undoubtedly scheduled to be at least in part in English, as the announcement says it will be premiering new songs from her new album. Not that that language/setlist change probably matters to most of the fans there, but the announcement also indicates that people can turn in their old tickets for a refund if they don’t want to go.
Now that the ‘ice’ has been broken in this regard, we may imagine that there will be more concerts scheduled, perhaps first in Eastern Europe if she is going to be there next fall. We’ll see…but, assuming it is really true, this is exciting news!
Interesting photo(s) of the week: first celebrating Lara’s coming concert in London, in March (thanks to ‘Sublime Lara Fabian’ FB site for the initial link):

with the caption, “One of the greatest voices in the world, Lara Fabian will be performing for the first time in a concert in the United Kingdom, in London on March 15th, 2017.”
And then celebrating Lara’s concert in Romania this fall,

We’ll see next week if the official video of the duet with Tony Carreira is released; he seems to have some popularity in France, so maybe people will buy into another go-round with “Je t’aime” – stranger things have happened . We’ll also see what else Lara and her people cook up to keep interest alive. One wonders whether all the work on the English album is finished, given that they seem to have the time available. Will any song from it be premiered in London (with a setlist that one assumes will favor English language songs) and if so, when will she rehearse for that? The time is coming when she will have to “fish or cut bait” on it - just five weeks away…
