Several items this past week continued the discussion about Lara’s duet with Tony Carreira of “J’taime”. Lara put a picture of herself from the video shoot on her FB site, at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1424624360912390/?type=3&theater
with the (translated) caption, “The clip for the duet with Tony Carreira on "Je t'aime" arrives very soon…”
Also, an article about their duet appeared at (http://www.aficia.info/actualite-musique/tony-carreira-devoile-um-amor-assim-je-taime-avec-lara-fabian/94120#tz42xD6AjCHE9f8b.99) [thanks to the Lara Fabian web site for the link]. Here’s the translation:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Tony Carreira unveils "Um Amor Assim (I Love You)", second extract of his new album in honor of women. Aficia tells you more!
The one who is a real star in Portugal has succeeded with ‘Nos fiançailles’[Our Engagement], France / Portugal' (2014) and 'Mon Fado' (2016) in conquering the heart of the French public. After a tour in France in 2016 that met with great success, Tony Carreira will be back in the shelves on February 10 with his new effort: ‘Le cœur des femmes’ [The Heart of Women]. An opus containing twelve beautiful declarations of love between France and Portugal, and consequently twelve duets through which he takes over several unavoidable titles of French and international variety.
Beautiful collaborations announced ...
Lately, the Portuguese crooner had already unveiled a first excerpt, "História de um Amor (History of a Love)", in duet with Ishtar. Today, Tony Carreira continues to promote his new album by offering a sublime Franco-Portuguese version of the song "Je t'aime" by Lara Fabian, "Um Amor Assim", with whom he interprets this song that has just been sent to the radios.
Listen to Tony Carreira and Lara Fabian with "Um Amor Assim (I Love You)": [not available in many countries]
Besides Ishtar and Lara Fabian, Tony Carreira has surrounded himself with beautiful collaborations for the realization of his new project ‘Le cœur des femmes’. They include Liane Foly on "Au fur et à mesure", Julie Zenatti on "Là-bas", Didier Barbelivien on "À tous les filles", Michel Fugain on "Une belle histoire" and also Ricky Martin on "Perdoname" , Daniel Guichard on "La tendresse", David Gategno on "Aimer jusqu’à l’impossible »", Chico & The Gypsies on "My Way", Mickaël Dos Santos on "Vous les femmes", not to mention the duet with his son David Carreira on "Et un jour une femme ", as well as the unpublished title "Maria and Sara".
And it is on stage that Tony Carreira will defend this new album since he will be in concert on September 21 and 22, 2017 at the Grand Rex in Paris, before going on tour throughout France.
------------------------------------------
Despite the opinion here in last week’s Update that this would probably not be for the French market, it looks like it actually is (in addition to Portugal, one presumes). Interesting that Lara would agree to a release of “Je t’aime” given, as noted last week, how she has bristled at the close identification of it with herself, as if she’d done nothing else since then. Hopefully she is pleased with the result, since the article says it has already been sent out to the media. If he succeeds in getting radio airplay, and getting it onto the French singles charts, more power to him!
You may have noticed that the links posted last week to the song on Youtube show the audio removed, or made unavailable in many countries. It would be nice if the video did not suffer that same fate. It’s one thing to limit the availability of the product they’re trying to sell (though even that doesn’t really make sense, because the single is really promoting the album), but it would be somewhat senseless to limit the promotional video itself.
The article noted one of his previous albums that was meant meant for the French/Portuguese public, "Nos fiançailles, France/Portugal" [Our Engagement, France/Portugal]. That one also had a video for one of its songs with a popular French singer, Natasha St-Pier, and it is available to a general audience on youtube, at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvioVW0XcR4
(although the Vevo address for it, linked to through Charts in France, at thttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeGPiz0pohs&feature=youtu.be, is not generally available).
The same is true for the clip, filmed with Helene Sagara: available to all at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TmRi7C58wY
but not the one with the official Vevo address (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly-_ydmpjC4&feature=youtu.be). The fact that Lara has mentioned the clip’s coming availability on her website implies that she would link to a generally available version there, if nowhere else.
It seems Lara has time on her hands now, as she said in another post on her FB site (translated below):
---------------------------------------------
Hello…….
As always when life leaves me a little room ... I find a space ...
An empty space in which I can dance like one is in a whirl, then land all alone, in love with wind and music ... ..
Alone, but nothing of this loneliness is sad ... because everything that happens nourishes me and makes me smile like a child ...
So, I share with you one of these voids full of good and of well... full of Maurane, for it is she to whom I listen, this woman filled with sound, meaning, and life.
I will never cease to love her, to celebrate her and say to her thank you, thank you for being.
If that speaks to you, come back into this blessed space, listen to "Carnet de Mô ..." and dance your soul ... Maurane sings you hers ...
Mmmmmôôôôôôôôô I LOVE YOU!
------------------------------------------------
Speaking of Maurane…You may remember she was supposed to be on stage at the Festival of Montauban last July, but she cancelled due to an operation on her vocal chords following the presence of an edema (swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in the body's tissues). [Lara, who was also supposed to appear there, had previously cancelled]. Maurane actually also cancelled all her concerts for the last half of 2016 ((http://www.dhnet.be/medias/musique/maurane-annule-tous-ses-concerts-57c4888b35709333b7f50709)). The operation was on May 12, 2016, and she said the recovery would take longer than had previously been expected. Hopefully she is in the process of recovering, although she has not resumed touring. A very recent article about her appeared at (http://www.public.fr/News/Mauranne-la-chanteuse-partage-un-rare-cliche-de-sa-fille-1263170). Here’s the translation:

Maurane: the singer shares a rare shot of her daughter!
1/18/17
If the singer Maurane is discreet on the professional side, it is the same thing for her private life. On her Instagram account where she shares some photos, she lets us discover a rare shot of her daughter Lou.
At 56, Claudine Luypaerts, better known under the name of Maurane, is a Belgian artist. In France, she did brilliantly in 2001 with ‘Tu es mon autre’, duet with Lara Fabian, at the peak of her career at the time. Maurane knows the music in which she has been bathing since the age of 8, because her father Guy-Philippe Luypaerts is a composer, but also the director of the Academy of Music of Verviers. Her mother Jeannie Patureaux is a piano teacher. If she did not pass her love of music to her daughter Lou, she remains very proud of her. Very modest about her family life, Maurane shares a rare shot of her daughter on her Instagram account.
The resemblance to her mother is striking! One might think that it is Maurane in the picture, when she was young. If she is not followed very closely on social networks, her fans are very numerous and they hope to see her very soon on stage.
------------------------------------------------------------
The article actually contains a picture of her daughter – very pretty.
It was noted at the time of her birth, that Lara's daughter was given the same name as Maurane’s daughter. Lara’s honest reply was that it wouldn’t have been her choice! [One expects Gerard Pullicino thus had something to do with it ].
Interesting photo(s) of the week: first, a video. In honor of the coming video of “Je t’aime”: the Lara Fabian Greece site posted a short clip of Lara singing it for some people a cappella, at
www.facebook.com/larafabiangreece/videos/625993930859037/
Also Lara posted another picture of herself with Tony Carreira, this one with an alluring background,

and finally, the ‘Lara Maroc’ site has a nice new title picture this year for their FB site, celebrating 2017 with Lara, at
scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/15732632_1902665643288777_8729216448413329920_o.jpg?oh=cbc19f7846da7001a8637c9349e477f3&oe=58FEAA39
As Lara described it, the ‘little room’ that Life has offered her at this time may well continue for some time…which means she and her ‘Team’ will likely have to scramble to keep fans interested – as will all the fan sites! But at least we’ll have the new video clip to look forward to – we hope!
