I love how on this song Lara mixes a quite pop sound with really deep lyrics. This is one of my most played Lara songs because whenever life brings me down I play it and it helps me keep life in perspective. Really all these little things I go through are No Big Deal and what I really need to do is keep my head in check and keep building on my life. I also love how Lara says it's no big deal but points out that she doesn't feel nothing because a lot of the time I feel the same way. I realize it's no big deal but it's so hard sometimes not to feel depressed or frustrated.

I like this song a lot, and wish that Lara would add more pop songs to her catalog. You are right about the lyrical depth to this song. "Dancing In the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen worked the exact same way for me. The song's pop sound had a tendency to make you overlook the subject matter. "No Big Deal" conjures up a lot of possibilities for what the song could be about for me. Sometimes I think she is speaking of herself after a breakup. Other times I think she is simply looking in the mirror and telling herself that she has trained herself well over the years to protect herself from the very thing that is befalling her. Still, other times I think that she is saying that even though she doesn't fully understand everything about the situation she's in, she still hasn't lost sight of her heart and the knowledge of right and wrong....so, therefore she will hold onto her integrity whether or not she can understand it all. Somehow, though, I think it has a lot to do with expectations and buildings placed upon ourselves.
