This is the newest cover release of singer/songwriter, Tina Arena. The CD is absolutely magnificant, as is all of her artwork.
However, it also would have been great if it were a CD of originals by her. I have never ever questioned her because everything she puts forth is absolutely amazing, but recently she said that she's not quite sure if her audience is ready to hear what she has to say in an album of originals.
I beg to differ. I know that I am absolutely positively hungry to hear something new from Tina. I understand that the music industry has changed for the worse, but it's artists like Tina that give me hope that it will return to quality over quantity. I treasure the songs that she has re-created, but also treasure the artist that I have admired for quite some time now. I recently read that frontman, Chad Kroeger, of the group, Nickelback said that as an artist you have to keep winning over your audience. I totally agree with him. An artist can not take anything for granted, especially with it's audience.
If Tina has something new to say, then, I say, go ahead girl, tell us what's on your mind. Trust us enough with the new material so that we will continue to come back for more. I am yearning for some new material from Tina. "7 Vies" definitely filled a void in what I have been missing from Tina's original artwork. I miss original songs from her like "Chains", "Sixteen Years", "Woman" and countless others.
I enjoy her paying tribute to the songs that she grew up with and sharing them with us, but her songs are apart of my life as well and I would love to hear the new material from the woman that I have admired deeply over the years. Her voice, her beautiful songwriting, her passion and overall uniqueness is what won me over so many years ago. The cover songs are beautiful, but, so is she and the new material that she hesitates to share.
