I really love this song. It has this calming effect on me. It also has so many questions, but always comes back to the chorus which I feel in a sense says none of that really matters. It really feels organic and real.

Yes, I agree! It has a very hypnotic affect on me, and I absolutely love Lara's soft, whispery and beautifully gentle voice throughout. I love the lyrics. To me, she is giving praise for Yeliel's timelessness and holiness. In a world where we are so often unsure of our footing, or even ourselves, stands one who is firmly secure in all that she is. There is great comfort in knowing this for Lara, because although she doesn't have all the answers, she knows one who does, and that one is Yeliel. This brings about a trust in Yeliel in times of need, and so too a song of praise. "When I need you I secretly sing you this part of my soul......" Lovely!

Just like a tree Decades and memories Articulate and seal Every one of your dreams When I need you I secretly sing you this part of my soul .........another thought that comes to mind from these lines: too often we hold a belief that we are to 'live in the here and now' and somehow forget the past and not worry about the future. But who we are is a culmination of all of it, past, present and future. Whatever is in our past, be it good or bad, has served to make us into what we are today, here in the present. A person once told me that for a battery to work, it needs both a negative and a positive charge, so we can't just dismiss the bad stuff in our lives as if it had no purpose. And if we live only in the here and now, what dreams would we have to reach for? With no future in mind, what would there be to dream of? So, it takes all of it! Past, present and future, to make up all of who we are! The memories of the past, the dreams of the future, and the moments we are travelling on right now in the present. Think of a tree, and the shape it takes over the years, formed by the weather that it has encountered, yet still reaching higher and higher throughout time. What Lara might be saying is that while she is 'seizing the moment' and living in the here and now, Yeliel teaches her by example that life encompasses so much more! Yeliel has the strength to teach it, because she is not running from her past, or hiding from her future. Lara finds great comfort and can find strength for herself in this. Now, it's just another of my crazy notions.

Mark, I can totally see what you're talking about. Thank you for the insight. What you've said is so important. We need to find the right balance between past, present, and future. I love the fact that we can read so much into Lara's music, it definitely makes it even more beautiful, because the more you look the more you know. One thing that I find about this song that makes it really special for me is the different colours it can put on. It can be a song of wisdom. It can be a tribute to a friend. It can be a song that calms you down after a hard day.
