Here are the things I do not like about what I think I am finding out about this: (1) It seems like there is an awful lot of government involvement in this whole thing. I'm not sure what I mean by that exactly, except to say that something inside of me feels funny about it all. Let these companies do their business, and rise and fall on their own. That way, the seller will sell for what he can get someone to buy it for, and the buyer will buy according to what he is willing to pay. (2) I don't like the notion that the US is responsible for the unemployment of Canadians. It's a two way steet here, and both sides are engaged in a conflict that is, in an attempt to protect its own, effecting the lives of others poorly. And (3) I believe that the US is only hurting itself by not keeping its word in the agreement. This reflects poorly with other countries, and will only make dealing with them more difficult in these matters because they will be able to remind the US of this. But for all it is worth, Canada and the US should put this matter to rest, and focus on the otherwise great relationship we have with one another. The amount in billions of dollars is still very small when you consider the fact that a solution will only benefit everyone involved. But, Leona, I have to concede the rest and say I agree with you because I am really new to this subject.
