I really need the Pittsburgh Steelers to win badly, and for some other teams to lose for them to have a chance to make the playoffs. Whether or not Pittsburgh succeeds in doing so, I am still very impressed with the Indianapolis Colts. And if Pittsburgh loses out, I will be rooting for the Colts for a number of reasons. One, I love Tony Dungy (a product of years in the Steeler organization) as not only a great coach, but also as a good man, and upstanding Christian. It's hard to root against a guy that you look up to as much as I do Tony Dungy. Next, Bob Sanders is from my hometown of Erie, PA. and has made all of us proud! Excellent ballplayer, with the right approach to the game and life to hopefully have a long and successful career in the NFL. Also, Peyton Manning is deserving of all the success he gets! A throwback to a different kind of player and attitude that can no longer be taken for granted (think Lombardi: "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing") in today's athlete. This guy doesn't care one bit about breaking records. He cares about winning football games. He's one of the most unselfish players in the game, and understands that it is a team sport. For that, he will probably shatter all kinds of records, and deservedly so. But I hope he gets the one and only thing he really wants....a team- shared Super Bowl trophy! There's a lot of character on that team, with people like Tony Dungy, Bob Sanders, and Peyton Manning (to name only three). Finally, I will be rooting for the Colts because....well, two of my very favorite people! You see, I know Leona is a Colts fan. So, if Pittsburgh stumbles, I will wish her all the best. And Shavon, while not a sports fan, hails from Indiana! So how can I not root for the Colts when my favorite girl on Earth comes from there? (lol)
