On the EMI UK website:
After a lengthy hiatus, during which time Tina Arena started a family and focused on her massive French success, we are incredibly excited to announce that Tina's first new English album in 6 years, 'Songs of Love & Loss', will be released on December 1.
'Songs of Love & Loss' is a handpicked covers album featuring songs of love and heartbreak and is the first album to be released under Tina's new worldwide deal with EMI Music Australia. Tina has been working on the album during 2007 from her home base of London.
Speaking today from London, as she puts the finishing touches on the album, Tina said: "This album is about more than just a woman carrying the torch for her lost love's return. These songs are powerful and uplifting and they are as much about the lives of the women who sang them - Lulu, Dusty Springfield, Carole King, Diana Ross. These women really took on life in their own way and at their peak they sang songs that made a statement."
Tina's Australian sales total almost 2 million across the albums 'Just Me' (2001), 1997's 'In Deep' and the globally successful 'Don't Ask' – which sold an incredible 10x platinum in Australia. In recent years, Tina has become a huge star in France where she has sold 1.8 million albums, including her recent and first all-French repertoire album 'Un Autre Univers' which reached double platinum sales in France. More recently, Tina has been performing as Roxie Hart in the West End production of 'Chicago: The Musical'.
Now she returns not only with a new album but to a new label. CEO of EMI Music Australasia, John O'Donnell said, "I am incredibly proud and excited to be working with Tina Arena. Tina has had the most remarkable career – she is a household name in Australia, a superstar in France and parts of Europe and is known around the world as a brilliant vocalist. 'Songs of Love & Loss' is a stunning next chapter in her story. We welcome Australia's first lady of song to her new home at EMI."
The full track listing for 'Songs of Love & Loss' is as follows – I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself Look Of Love So Far Away I Only Want To Be With You To Sir With Love Do You Know Where You're Going To (Theme from Mahogany) Love Hangover Windmills Of Your Mind The Man With The Child In His Eyes Everybody Hurts Until (a Tina original) Woman (a Tina original)
Tina will be back in Australia later this year for the album release.

The album will be great as usual. Of all the years of following her career, she has never disappointed me. She tops herself each and every time. Her artistry is undeniable. ~Shavon

I really love both albums a lot! If I can pull myself away from all this Zucchero and Bruno Pelletier music that Paula recently sent me I'll go back to these two great albums again. LOL
I'd be interested in learning what everyone's favorite songs are from these albums.
